May as well make the most of being rotrex'd before Rams completes his set up as it should be a beast, so we should meet up as often as possible before rams is charged to show him how slow his Vr is ;)

i think stealth sell them new? google stealth racing and give them a call, mon-fri. alternatively they do pop up for sale on here and also ed38. id say one in good condition should be about £90-£100. Worth it for the noise in my opinion. Also i think the outlet is a slightly different soze to the vr6 maf so you need a piece of connecting silicone for a smooth fitment :) and easy to fit, whip off the air, connecto filter to the amf and secure it and job done
-
If you're treating your self mate get a bmc, epic noise and enclosed filter so protection against heat soak :)

i was going to say mate that welding is awful and i know youre standards but then i read thats the before pic! let us know how the install goes, and hopefull get out fpr a drive before xmas gritters get out on the roads ;)

Yeah the pictures aren't great as photobucket has scaled them down but I'm a long way off getting the shine and finish you and rams both have in your paintwork! Stunning set of cars and both very rapid vrs, Set of rims I think has to be next on my wish list.

Had a great little catch up today with Ramsey, Jason and Owen. Spirited drive to the bakers and nice weather to top if off.

I'm not the most mechanically minded but if the rear calipers have seized wouldn't it be a good time to change them for the mk4 rears? Buy some in good condition and will save you the time and hassle rebuilding the corrado one?
-
They do crop every now and again. Keep an eye out and sure you'll find one. Maybe bracket £80-110.

Good to see you cracking on buddy, will be rewarding when you sort all the little niggles. Took my headlight off the other month and had the same card thing floating about at the bottom :)

Cheers John, Vince mapped it with the Maf. Me and my mechanic relocated the maf to the passengers side behind the bumper. One reason was i didnt like the filter being so low to the floor when it was just under the carbon canister hole, risking hydrolocking the engine. The other was that at low rpm/idle the turbulence from the charger can cause the maf to hunt being so close to the charger inlet so having the maf as far away as possible alows the air to settle down before it hits the maf. Result is a super smooth idle and even though the filter is stilll quite low, i would need to go through a substantial puddle/volume of water to suck any up. There was such a limitation of space though behind the bumper we really struggled t get the large air filter and maf in a secure location. One bonus of going turbo is you can keep the air box/filter in the same location :) I Think the boost was close to 10psi, i never actually asked vince what max boost we were hitting.

So managed managed to get everything ready, injectors fitted, progressive meth kit installed and relocated the filter and maf to the passengers gets wing. Limped up to stealth and finally allowed vince to work his magic. Vince installed a new high flow fuel pump, map and unfortunately I needed a new lambda sensor as mine was non responsive. Luckily one was delivered and the end result 291bhp & 261lbs ft. Vince has done wonders with the car and there have been a few moments I considered giving up but I'm pleased with the results. Would just like to say a massive thanks to vince for his hard work, genuinely top bloke. On the drive back to bournemouth I took it steady as it was wet but when I did open her up 3rd and 4th are relentless all the way to the redline. Needless to say I won't be driving it that far up the rev band all the time but it's nice to know the power doesn't suddenly drop off. The water temp stayed constant and the oil ranged from 98c to 104c when pushed. Vince mapped the meth kit to begin injecting at 5 psi so it's not on all the time driving slow around town but there when it's needed. He did say he was surprised how well the kit worked compared to some others available so thumbs up for the devils own progressive methanol injection kit. Next on the cards will be just enjoying the drive, then future plans of wheels, rear bumper respray and the we shall see how the engine is coping ;) Few pics below but having trouble trying to upload the video from you tube using my iPad??

Anyone know the cost a new vr6 4l washer bottle? Sorry don't have the part no. To hand.
-
Hoping my rado is sorted in the next 2 weeks and a mini meet would be great! Rams we'll have a chat about charginf etc, i personally thinik turbo would be better in the long run and ive heard obd2 is better for mapping! be good to have a catch up soon :)

Awesome work as usual buddy. Seems we have quite a collection of corrados in Dorset, sorted storms, r32 conversions, Jason's immaculate Vr, James' vortech Vr, owens g60 and fingers crossed my rotrex Vr :) quite a good selection for a meet I reckon :)

Would like to make one pending getting my car mapped. Something a little southern would be great, I've been to janspeed in salisbury twice and was good. But pending location I'll keep an eye open for this :)

Lovely paint and shine, not 100% on the wheels but it is nice to see something different and refreshing than the usual bbs rims :)

Sky fall 7/10 enjoyed the film and was a good bond film up until the last 30 mins or so then I felt it just wasn't a bond film and more a standalone one man against all shooter. Also a few niggles that I won't mention in detail to not spoil the film but the usual stop talking about shooting someone and just shoot them. But in general I enjoyed and liked some touches to the old style of bond films which you'll get one when you see it :)

Vr6 280mm front brake set up. Calipers, carriers, discs and pads.
Craig replied to Craig's topic in Parts for Sale
Ah didn't realise, many thanks :) -
Hello, As in my thread I've updated my front brakes to 312s so my standard 280mm set up is no longer needed Calipers and carriers have been painted black and are in good condition, the brakes were spot on when on my car and only have about 4-5k miles on the discs and pads. Both have plenty of life left in them and discs have no lip, they were on the car when I bought it so unsure of make but discs are plain, no holes or grooves, which is better IMO anyway. I think the pads are pagid but I'm not 100% sure. Included is calipers, carriers, discs, pads and bolts. Ideal if yours are tired and need new discs and pads anyway? £100 for lot which seems fair as discs are about £50 new. Thanks Discs have no lip at all

So while waiting to get the car mapped at stealth I've been missing driving it so treated the inside to some tic and retrimmed the headlining and sun visors etc. I really wanted some nice alcantara but its not cheap and As it was my first attempt at trimming I opted for some nice plush black cloth at about £40 for a 2x1m strip, just in case things didn't go to plan. Theres a few tiny niggles but overall I'm chuffed with the results. Cost about £55 in total what with spray glue and evostick glue. The interior has been totally transformed and I'd recommend everyone should give it a go! ---------- Post added at 11:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:30 AM ---------- My handbrake cover was from another car and has never been quite as black as the surrounding trim so thought Id cover this too. Looks much better in the flesh than in the pictures. :) I also decided to strip the plastic off of the sun visors and retrim these rather than spray them. I'm just waiting for the paint to dry on the grey plastic then I'll pop them in too.

Good stuff, will look forward to seeing how this develops :)

Weitec Hicon GT Coilovers, VR6 Decat (with 2 lambda holes)
Craig replied to mariojoshi's topic in Parts for Sale
Hello mate, currently in bournemouth, for £40 ill take the de-cat if you can bring it down sometime. Im in no rush tho as would proberly fit it after my mot in dec but anytime suits me as I can pop it in the shed. :) Just confirming does the lambda usually fit the in the standard cat then and this would just replace it and plug in? Ie remove std cat, unplug old lambda that's in the old cat and fit this in its pace and connect up the lambda socket? Simples? -
No pictures yet? Dont be shy!
