Who in Berkshire is good for Timing Chains? My Rado (vr6) has got to the point when the rattle at idle and back off is worrying. I know the Phirm have a good rep. But I live and work in Reading. Can anyone with experience recomend somewhere to do a reasonable job in replacing the timing chain tensioners and if need be replace chains and lower tensioner, and any idea of costs? I have ben quoted circa £400 + Parts but I have no idea of parts prices.

From what I remember it had a top end rebuild on engine, including KR cam mod - producing 157BHP. I may be wrong But I don't think so. -

I agree with Tom here, That Valver aint no slo coach. Must be the way its driven Jim. I have had a 3 lane Corrado rolling roadblock at a speed upwards of an indicated 135 leptons on the M3 with Jims car whilst it was being driven by the female previous owner. Im sure she would be most upset to hear that Jim is now sledging his own car, Its a lovely engine with that KR, I know this car is a quicken. My advice, Go out and find a road you enjoy and Just enjoy it. -

Checking of tyre pressure, oil and coolant.
ZippyVR6 replied to Bojmobile's topic in General Car Chat
The variance in pressures could be put down to dodgy iar compresors at garages. They are notourious for being inaccurate. So what pressure would you put in a Standard VR6 ? I keep mine at 30 PSi but the Toyos seem to roll on the edges. But after going through a set of Pirellis in 6k a few years ago because they were over inflated, I dont want to fill them with too much air. -

Porsche intends to seek legal action in the form of a judicial review of the Mayor of London's plans to introduce a £25 congestion charge for Band G cars. A letter to this effect was delivered to the Mayor's office on Tuesday and you may have seen media coverage of the announcement Anyone wishing to express interest, support or oposition to this action, please visit: http://www.porschejudicialreview.co.uk and give Porsche your comments. Mine had the similar problem. I put it down to poor contacts, the If you pull of the cover you will see a contact that moves. I cleaned it up with some glass paper and prized it up a little to give better contact. Works on all speeds.

I thought that the emisions regulation was for cars registered after 51 plate. Anything prior to that is exempt from the readings.
