That happened to me at our local VW dealers in Guildford. I went in to pick up a trim strip for a friends Rado, I had driven mine there and parked it outside but when I asked for the part I was told that there was no such thing as a Volkswagen Corrado, I pointed out I had driven my Corrado there and it was outside and I even walked over to the window where you could see my car from and pointed but he still tried to say there was no such thing as a Corrado.... :cuckoo: :cuckoo: :cuckoo:

so, Zeds fixed and Goofys coming home... all is good with the world again!!! :) Looking forward to seeing it progress into a 24v... I know someone selling a turbo kit.... :lol:

I hope they throw the book at him if he is guilty.... A few years ago my second cousin, Jane, who was pregnant at the time, was crossing a road in Edinburgh with her 5 yo daughter. It was at a pedestrian crossing where the lights were signalling for them to cross, when they were hit in the middle of the road by a car, going far to quickly, that was being driven by a then well known Scottish footballer. Both the 5yo and the unborn baby were killed and Jane had many injuries the worst of them being a broken back which put her in a wheelchair. The footballer got away with 6 points and a couple of years probation - his reason for the accident, being tired and not paying attention because he was talking to his girlfriend in the car with him. I believe he also had alcohol in his system although i don't remember how much. The judge did't feel it was fair to give a harsher sentence because of 'who he was'... Madness....

The pics make the paint look better than it is - I will need to get her resprayed at some point, probably get the arch done first, then replace wing and bumper and have front end done then do the rest after that.... but getting her on the road in one piece with a decent drop and nice wheels will all come first. Ta for caliper offer, had a customer give me a box of goodies the other day, in it was two painted red G60 calipers and new discs and pads... :)

Yes... I'm back.... Did you all miss me? :) Having sold my last red valver to Jim around 2 years ago I've had the Corrado 'itch' - and fate intervened when a Flash Red 2ltr 16v was left abandoned at my work a couple of weeks ago. The car had came in with another exactly the same colour and spec to have the engine taken out of it and put into the other Rado which had a dodgy engine but much better bodywork, thankfully though my boss saved the engine in the other one and kept this one in one piece and thus surpluss to owners requirements. After leaving my boss to do the haggling the car was mine for the sum total of £100, although that did include 2 pages of MOT failure sheets! So, the ugly ducklings tranformation to swan will start with an MOT, and a basic tidy up. I already have 'plans' but need to get her running reliably before anything else.... So, everyone meet Nola (I ran out of red names after having one car called Scarlett and one called Ruby... :) ) Looking slightly better in the sunshine after a wash and bonnet polish.... The bad bits... Previous owner ran over a roundabout... :( Previous owner broke the key in the ignition barrel.. so having to hotwire her to move her at the mo... Interior is clean enough though... The good bits.. The body is straight, just a bit shabby, got a pile of reciepts inc last service being cambelt etc... She runs really nicely, smooth and quiet and the gearbox all feels good too. Engine bay is remarkably clean compared to the rest of the car. So, started amassing a pile of parts already, needs all the brake hoses and lines for the MOT so figured I'd go braided hoses and G60 brakes, got a KR cam lying about in work I can steal, oh and a cheap-but-will-do-for-now lowering kit to use until I can afford coilies to get her on the floor... Searching for wheels now - best bit of owning a car.... Cheers!!!

yeah - thats the one.... we saw her mon night, spent tuesday trying to get the money together and she was gone before we get into put the bid on basically.... :( seller now not answering emails... boogar...

... Reg No K287 SSU....? Red 16v, late body, early interior, electrical running problem. AEZ Parons...? Think it was on there as 'spares or repair', had no bids and now advert is gone... Its my old car and we desperately want it back... trying to contact seller to find out whats happening/happened.... If anyone knows anything can you let me know.... Ta much!

Whats the prob with the suspension?? Just make sure if you do give up I'm the first to find out - issues or no issues I'd have that car back in a flash.... :D

feels like I should really say something in here...! I have wanted Maves car for a while as I had a pic of it on my wall when i was 8 and thus my Red Corrado Obsessive Compulsive Disorder began - we've discussed it with Mave before but never had the right money/circumstances... Sadly now we have just got the money and with me working at the Phirm it would be ideal for getting her running again - we have asked the new owner to sell her to us, however I dont have time to hang about, nor do I have a lot of money to pay for it - We'll give him his money back so he isnt out of pocket, however by the sounds of things I expect he'll want more. We shall keep you updated and if we can get her to save we will. Time is running out though as we need a new car asap.... Everyone cross your fingers really hard... :)

there are still loads of rados out there with 200k plus - even some over the 300k mark - on the engines and have never had chains/tensioners/rebuilds etc etc... they are good, strong solid engines that are built to be driven. 140k on the clock wouldnt put me off at all, and to be honest with only 3.5k to spend you are unlikely to get one with much less than that!get something with a decent history and you'll be fine....

I got to drive a Rado again today, for the first time in aages, the result...... I waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant another Rado sooooo badly it hurts... :) After selling my beloved Ruby valver last year and Dave letting his VR6 go to a good home I have purposly been avoiding everything Corrado related.. even a friend visiting in their own Rado leaves me mesmerised, its weird to the point of being sad I guess... (is it wrong to have a fetish based around a 90s german sports coupe...? :? ) Started a job with the Phirm a few weeks ago and ever since I did its been Corrado after Corrado thats came in... was standing in a circle of 5 of them the other day - all colours and flavours - and it was like being a 7 year old at Xmas... The guys in work have gotten used to the fact that if there is a Rado in I will do bugger all but stare at it and smile... Had an errand to run today (we needed essential chocolate supplies) and got to take a customers Corrado (with his consent - i didnt steal it, honest!) and had a good old blatt along the Surrey country lanes... and now I am not gonna rest until theres another of the damn things resting on the driveway.... seen a couple of 'interesting' potential purchases online too... ;) Anyway - all I have to do is convince Dave that he really wants another Corrado - it will be his cos I still have my Jeep - and then find something with 'potential'.... and then the plans can begin... mwahahahahahahahahahaha....... GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH............. why did I sell mine in the first place..?

when are you off to get the bits Jim? I can find out for you either from work or when I call VAG for bits, however our local parts dept is shut for the next 2 days to relocate so it would be next week....

9k I believe now - seems like a bargain considering the work that got put into it... we were discussing it in work today - one of the lads read that the current owner has posted saying he may be tempted to break it if he cant sell it.... drewiee99 - for me it would be the 24v all the way, concorse has its place too, but Corrados are for driving, not making look pretty....
