VR6 rebuild - Downpipe and exhaust tacked up
Whitedog replied to nemesis360's topic in Members Gallery
Cheers Graham Thats great, i'll get them then, how much were they? I'm gonna be doing the work myself. Got a couple of mates who are really good with a set of spanners to give me a hand, bought myself a decent tool kit from halfords so this is going to be my first engine out rebuild. I'm not shy of getting my hands dirty and i reckon it'll all come apart easily enough, and then i've got my mates to help me put it back together. I'm looking forward to learning more about mechanics, i ideally one day would like to beable to do all the work myself on my car so i dont have to really on expensive garage bills. I'm gonna get around to starting a project thread soon so keep your eyes peeled. -
Is anyone gonna own up to being the buyer, who probably eventually got a corrado and may still be lurking around the forum...... :geek:

VR6 rebuild - Downpipe and exhaust tacked up
Whitedog replied to nemesis360's topic in Members Gallery
I think the colour really suits it, and i love the route your going down with it. We see so many wearing bbs's etc it makes a refreshing change to see something fresh. Is the mk4 tensioner just a straight swap then? I'll be doing this soon so any info would be great, dont happen to have the part numbers needed do you??? -
I think the new laws in road tax ie. the emissions they put out only affects cars "post 2001". Since no corrado's were ever made after this date it means corrado's aren't in the new tax brackets.

Congrats on the win Graham I first saw this car when i traded in my old low mileage red rado vr6 auto at your place. I really regret doing that, especially as i've ended up with another the same but not in as good nick, but hey, you cant turn back time. You and john took me round to where you had it parked and i first thought, thats not a corrado colour. Wasnt sure whether i liked it or not and i must confess i'm still not sure. I think i like it, but VAG snobbery is making me turn my nose up at a rover paint code........this i must get over as your car looks fantastic and i can certainly see the hard work going into it. I cant wait to see the changes you are making and am looking forward to seeing the interior unfold. Keep us posted... P.S. Why a Mk4 chain tensioner???? -

Hi and welcome, as has been said the fact that you are driving a corrado irrelevant of which model makes you cool, although personally its a VR6 for the win. (Puts on flame suit)
-
Its a Corrado, it doesnt need a reason... Pics look good. I love germany :hitler: , went to the ring last year and was amazed at how nice all aspects of the country were. Will definately go back. Makes you wonder WTF has happened to our country... :help: :censored: :ignore:

Cheers VR6, some great info there, but nothing is screaming out at me, what is relay 4, load reduction relay for???? This is the closest sounding relay that could have anything to do with my problem. Cheers
-
Hi all Does anybody know if there is a relay that controls gear selection on an auto box and if so what number relay it is? Reason i ask is that my auto box is in the emergency mode which according to the manual means it only operates in 3rd. When driving, at the point where it should be changing gears i can hear a clicking noise coming from the fuse box, the type of noise which sounds like a relay tring to work. Please help me get all my gears back :( Its a 1992 vr6 auto if it makes any difference. Cheers all.

I had an S2 and the performance of that was amazing, can only imagine what the RS2 is like. Economy aint great though and bits break on these also as they are getting on a bit now. Iconic cars though... Althought the leather in that one doesnt look like its only done 10k....
