Why its sometimes better to ring the Dealer first...

You make a good point there. I've always known that they can be very competitive with prices, what i didn't think of was the obselete factor...... it makes perfect sense when you think about it. Will definately be calling in at vw first in all future purchases. :D -
That'll be ace. I did my APC Instructor training down there, the tank track is awesome, some real fun times had on there, drifting a tracked vehicle is amazing fun, and the knife edge tests your nerves. Wouldn't fancy taking the rado on the tank track though.... Be ace on the tarmac though...sure you'll have a blast.

Personally i love the azev a's, but for the similarity factor i would say the compomotives are the closest match.

Soundproofing.........just turn the stereo up!!

That goldigga one is just pure genius....

(brakes were speaking and driving me crazy)! Sorry to break this to you buddy but your already crazy if your brakes are speaking to you!   :cuckoo:

Nothing about it is really that hard, just that you have to jiggle the brake cylinder and servo about so the box can then drop down. Not much room for movement in the servo etc... so just a bit fiddly. Took me an afternoon and thats with drilling new holes etc.

Today i thought i would do the next phase in my auto to manual conversion, swap the pedal boxes over. What a ball ache that is. Nothing about it is difficult, but trying to get the pedal boxes out and in is like playing with a russian puzzle  . Imagine changing the ignition switch on a larger scale. Anyway after much to-ing and fro-ing i finally get the old one out and drilled the new holes for the clutch master clinder. I put the new pedal box back in :brickwall: and finger tightened the bolts. I'll finish it off tomorrow and refit the steering column.

Can you not get shark fin amplified bases????? I've often thought about this mod but was unsure as to how it would look.

yup, them wheels are the dogs dangly bits...

You can do it in autocad, just make blocks of each vehicle, say in a different colour, then over lay them and you'll be able to see the differences. You can then turn the blocks on or off depending on how many vehicles you had overlaid. Alternativley take photos of said vehicles, scale them in photoshop then you can use the opacity function to fade them in / out.

Gonna resurrect this thread as i intend on doing this tomorrow. Need to remove the auto pedal box and replace with a manual pedal box. Whats the score when doing this??? Read the auto to manual how to, do i need to take out steering column??? Any help would be much appreciated as i'm new to doing this. Ta. Stu

I'm really feeling the credit crunch, recently been made redundant from my job in architecture. People arent buying houses, therefore developers cant afford to keep building them and are shutting up shop, therefore architects have nothing to design so are cutting costs by getting rid of people. Thing is now after 20+ job applications i just cant get a job in the same industry. Decided i'm gonna do something else as sitting in an office all day was starting to do my head in anyway, so i've just been offered a driving job for Parcel Force. Looking forward to the change but its gonna hit me hard financially as i've had to take a 33% pay cut. Just when i'm in the middle of a full engine rebuild and auto to manual swap......doh!!! This country is w*nk.

Yours looks so sweet. You'll only regret selling it and as has already been said, you dont know what you'd be buying. Personally i would spend the time it would take you to source a new car to get an auto electrician to find the fault with your indicators, i reckon once this problem is solved you wouldnt even think about selling up. Keep it, you'll only regret it.

I think the majority of us can relate to you. I am on my third rado now, the second one i owned was an absolutely mint vr with 74k on the clocks....i regret selling that car everyday of my life. I am of course back in another rado vr, but this needs quite a bit of work to get it up to scratch. I'm loving doing it all though as i'm sure you're gonna love being back in one. Dont worry about the running costs, my wife looked at an a3 a while back and the economy was worse than my vr.

That colour is lovely.......ride looks really nice.....loving the rear in motion shot.

Love this car, it looks amazing. Given me plenty of inspiration for mine. Agree with the comment about the colour coded handles, will defo be doing that.
-
If its a "newer" car you want i'd go for a later 2.0 16v over a 1.8 16v as the 1.8 is essentially a mk2 inside. The later 2.0 will feel a bit newer, thats what i always go for anyhow, not really a fan of the earlier interior.

Merc AMG all day every day for me.....Audi is amazing but as has been said, merc is in a different league.
