My front wheels are 7.5x17 with toyo t1-r 215-40-17 and are fine on standard arches apart from slight scrub on full lock very marginal. Wanted to go 215-45-17 but asvised not to and looking at them now glad i didnt. Also lowered bout 50mm

I keep saying over when people ask about it that it really is good to do, obviously had g-lader then tried BBM/Lysholm on 50mm pulley (smallest), then IHI and honestly nothing compares to it for all round driveability and economy and performance. 155mph (indicated) four up at 6k rev set to 7600rpm now, couldnt take it past 6k when i did it due to ignition woes. You should see good figures when its done by your spec.

Yes expensive hobbies c's can be. Conversion takes approx 1-2 week i believe, mine took a while longer as development car. No vids available but it was featured in Golf+ if you wanna see more pics, in the December issue if you have a copy or can get hold of one.

Got bills totalling to 14k for all i have done to car but actually less in the car as some has been sold on. Estimate for engine around 8-9k including labour as im lazy. In parts prob around 6-7k estimate, its been done over 18months so cant quite remember exactly. I started with engine and worked through the rest of the car as it needed things replacing/upgrading, as no point changing something if its working/upto the job.

_leon_ Basically a 1900 conversion with big valve head, intercooler, high lift cam, oil cooler, the works. Was running BBM/Lysholm on 50mm pulley then converted to IHI and out of it all its the best thing i have done more economical as driving off boost thats until i floor it 440cc injectors tend to drink a good load of go go juice. Standard drive shafts, cv joints etc. Replaced all bushes front and rear for poly 1's and replaced all drive components as old were old and worn, as probably been on car for at least 10 years if not its entire life. Had no issues at all so far even standard box and diff although im going to go diff ratios and peloquin ATB as traction on corners can sometimes be compromised, and G60 ratios are not suited to my power band available which is very wide. g60dave has IHI conversion on a standard engine and i think it does roughly 220BHP and 240lb/ft of torgue and he is really happy with it. Might be worth getting his view as with ur spec it would be a a trade off between mine and his i suspect. What do you want to upgrade to 20v? Hope this helps mate. -
I know search but anyway my sunroof still slides but not as should do. Had it open went to close it which it wouldnt do unless i held close button and physically pushed it. Looked at exterior roof on sunfoof and its put a couple of scrapes on it. This was ages ago and just did not want to accept its given up the ghost but as i remember it would still open but not close right and dont really want to try it in case it gets stuck. Hopefully this can be a easyish fix any1 had same/similar problem and know how to rectify it. Just want to know what is f***** Cheers simon

Seen them on Dubsports purple c the 1 that was in PVW or Golf+ a year or two ago i think the VR6 turbo 4x4 running 500ishBHP. Wheels were not on in feature but recently saw a pic looked ok very clasic looking, even with 4x4 and 500BHP.

Tried to put 1 on mine and for some reason it wouldnt fit straight was bit wonky. Could av modified piping but would have looked worse IMO. No real benefit apart rom looking good but then your not really gona see it anyway wih it been hidden by everything.

A really good conversion with 320 posible and i would say still very civilised to drive pottering round. Would say more driveable than your current set up, keep engine and convert. -
I would say the IHI setup is a bit more powerful. Its a totally different power delivery as well, but I'll let you know when its fully up and running. Now then ben i thought you were all mapped up a couple of months ago??? yeah it didn't go to plan.. yes it was mapped but only made 300bhp.. which I'm not happy about so re-doing a couple of things to improve on that as I wanted more 340-360bhp tbh.. will be done soon.. hows yours? Well kinda nearly killed my turbo. Over spun it with a boost leak from turbo to intercooler due to electronic boost controller trying to make 22psi which it did do and as said overspun turbo and damaged main shaft and bearings. Easy enough fix and not too expensive so all good really and back to if not better than before soon?

Got 215/40/17 on mine with roughly 50mm drop and get slight rubbing on full lock and apart from that all ok with no arch mods. Also tyre sidewall design makes a difference got Toyo T1-R on and their quite square looking which makes them more likely to scrub.

lol well thats just the doors, its got another bulk kit covering the whole back floor boot and 3 quarters, only single layered tho. Puts in perspective how much is in the doors.

How mad Kev in your doors? I went mental got a bulk kit of dynamat extreme which is 9 rolls if i remember right split between both doors, think its triple layered, tap outside proper solid. Was going to put phoenix gold ti elite in with the 9" mid bass drivers in custom door builds but plans changed so now got proper heavy doors for no reason lol. still when i close my doors sounds like a proer expensive door clunk if you know what i mean.

Dang60 just bite the bullet and convert its a good conversion to do and been so reliable on mine even with 300+bhp and torque.

Dubsport have fitted to a mk2 so corrado should be possible too. Haldex can be fitted to corrado as they have done to mk2 but i thihk Dubsport lock up the rear diff for whatever reason, think it makes a permanent 4wd then?

Wouldn't have anything to do with a (slight) loss of traction when the turbo spins up would it??? :D Partly but mainly really needing new front tyres. G60 1st and 2nd are way too short for my liking and 2nd to 3rd too big a gap as revs drop off just a bit too much. Thats why every one puts VR6 1st and 2nd. Had a Golf VR6 behind me one time and he was sat right on my bumper until i got into 3rd then it was goodbye.

Well that is what i thought because i could just beat him. Saw him again other night and intercooler out front so gotta be 2l turbo. Got to say not really into traffic light grand prix either more dual carriageway and back lane blasts. Due to crap 1st and 2nd. Had a blast on a dual carriageway with a FQ-340 the driver was been clever, thinking he would easily do me. He wouldnt put his foot down and indicated for me to overtake him so i pulled out got at the side he then thought he was clever and floored it, how gutted he must have been in his 30k car that i started to pull away in our straight line drag. My work was done lol.

Was thinking about the drivers side if there is enough room, if not then the centr vents. Also discussed the A pillar but not just a stick on job to the existing trim, but to replace the whole trim albeit with a gauge pod. Dont know if any one makes one already?
