Was reading this before I went out for a run today and thought i'd see how frugal I could be with the VR6. Pretty impressed with that!
-
Daily for me too and it puts a smile on my face every single time!

I was having the same problem but never got round to changing the battery just kept charging it. In my case there was either something wrong with the stereo I fitted or something wrong with the way I fitted it. Put the original sony one back in and it's been fine for the last 2 months. The head unit was working fine with no problems at all but must have been draining charge overnight.

2 for me too please! :)

Woke up this morning to find that someone had written 'LOVE IT' on my bonnet! Assume it was abit of drunken corrado love! :luvlove:
-
Gut instinct would make me assume scam. I'd walk away.

Mine clocked the magic 100k last week!

Can't ask for a better birthday present than that! -
People have been known to get better emissions readings after giving the car a bit of a thrashing so i'm told!
-
How much did it fail by? Would a good old 'Italian tune up' be enough?
-
Only about 15 miles to go now before I hit the dreaded 100k. Just about run in I suppose!

Spotted a Black C hurtling past the UGC cinema in Enfield on Sunday night about 9pm. Seemed to be going for it! I'd just parked up so you wouldn't have seen me.
-
Yes, mine are polished. Couldn't tell you if they were originally or not though.
-
Woohoo, spotted! That would have been mine. :D

White/cream one driving down Chingford Mount this afternoon. Looked great, I was walking with my noise cancelling headphones on and still heard it coming!
-
Well, they're on! Think I got myself a bit of a bargain, £170 for a set of 5. Really liking them. :D
-
I likey, can't wait to get them on now! Think i'll just swap the tyres over from the speedlines. :)
-
So no need to declare them to the insurance company then!? :)
-
They're 15's, exact dimensions of the speedlines. Originally from a Passat VR6 i'm told. Still undecided on dropping it, although really swaying towards saving up for some kw v1's. Would really improve the way it looks but i'm also keen on keeping it as standard as possible.

Just collected some new wheels that'll be going on as soon as possible. What do you think?

Me being an idiot then! I was trying to fit the clips over the badge from the inside, scratched my hands to bits trying to force them on! Many thanks. Tom
-
I took my rear badge off as it was a little loose, got some new clips from vw and am having a bugger of a time getting it back on! Is there a special knack to it or am I just being an idiot?
-
Thanks for that, from what you're saying mine sounds like the blue temp sensor. Going to order myself one and see if it does the job. Is it an easy job to fit it? Tom

Well, it WAS back to normal. Just had the same problem on the way home. This time it wouldn't start straight up again though. The engine would start and then die again immediately even if i revved. Was almost like the immobiliser was kicking in. Pushed it to the side of the road and after a couple of mins it was ok again. With mine it seems to only really be a problem when the engine is warmed up. Today's the first day i've done more than about 15 miles in it since I had the initial problem. Thinking back it was only an issue when i'd been on long runs. Any ideas? Tom

Had this problem last week. Took it to my local vw specialist who plugged it into vag com. The problem was with the throttle body, they gave it a clean and now it's back to normal.
