    G60 Oil filter seal

Nah, don't worry about it, didn't get up till late and ended up getting my tractor out and doing a bit of work for my parents until it was dark anyway. Afraid I haven't got a 1/4 drive set, think that's where it went wrong when i did mine!! haha. Did you get the golf sorted?

    G60 Oil filter seal

it's new pump time mate, they aren't serviceable. I'll have a word with a bloke and try to borrow an oil pressure gauge that we could hook up to it if you want. Other wise the pump isn't too bad, th main problem is the 2 sump bolts at the flywheel end. :bad-words:
  5. my (male) mate's boyfriend used to have one until someone referred to the things on the back as 'bummer-grips' (no offence intended to anyone here  ) Nice work!!! I've heard side burns referred to as "Buggers' grips" too
  6. Oh dear.... Does that have anything to do with Karma? That's a serious design issue really, isn't it? if the chassis will bend when it's jacked up, then it can't be too clever in a crash... although I wouldn't imagine being t-boned with the top down would be fun anyway....
  7.
  8. moonlight blue is a stunning colour. really fell in love with it at the south coast meet when I saw Mike_G60's car. I love my aqua blue pearl when it's clean, it goes from green to purple in different lights. I'll give her a bath and put some pics up sometime.
  9. if you're already ladied up, tell her it was me..... I'm charming, funny, 6'1", got a lot of love to give :norty: , Well it has been a long time.... You could try re-lacquering or painting the inside of the rim (inside the tyre) as a cheap fix. Although you'll clearly need to remove/re fit the tyre.
  10. Happy Birthday fella! I must admit I'm never really bothered by my birthday and always work. I've been up to my cobblers in cow sh!t before.
  11. AFAIK The alloys used in alloy wheels are porous, and the thing that stops them leaking air is the lacquer (SP). Hence why they stop leaking after a refurb. They have a nice coating of jollop all over them. Magnesium alloy wheels are more porous than other alloys.
  12. I assume your plan is to use a G60 (PG) bottom end? Why not use a 9A or other suitable 2l bottom end? Save on boring a block out. What sort of power are you looking for?
  13. just googled it. Oh. My.
  14. Your first piercing was a Prince Albert????????? Nothing like jumping in at the deep end!!
  15. I think Brembo 'Max' disks are just standard Brembo disks (which are very good BTW) which are drilled and or grooved. and possibly painted black.
  16. I can be.... but i was planning to get a bit of a lie in and wash the car. Maybe hoon over Sunday? the traffic should be a lot quieter then too. It'll be interesting to see how the new pulley fits, especially with a proper key. I hadn't thought about the extra torque on the key from driving the charger.... hmmm. I'll have a bit more of a think about it. Tom

    rebuilding CVs

I've had one fall apart while on the shaft, but you need to take it off to rebuild it, you can rotate the middle ring enough while it's on the shaft. there's a good link for rebuilding them on here, in a thread, titled driveshaft help or something. After i rebuilt one, I didn't like the way it moved, so I bought a new one anyway.
  18. Hello mate..... Interesting to hear what is being said.... TBH it looks like there is over half of the depth of the keyway still intact, have you tried slotting that new key in and seeing what it's like? Maybe that idea with the chemical metal to fill the little gap coud work, and then as steveo said drill it and loctite a pin or two through the pulley into the crank? At the worst it would knacker the crankshaft. Also it'd be nice to hear some thought on fitting a new (secondhand) crank.... Supposing we were to take the one from my spare 16v block, get it ground and get new shells for it, I suppose we'd need the original g60 flywheel bolted to it. does this need balancing to the crank?
  19. Looks good!!!! Good speed chopping skills btw.
  20. 10 x 18 and 11 x 18 if i remember correctly. wonder if they'd fit?? :D
  21. yeah, they're the same as the old VR6 wheels aren't they?
  22. Aah found a photo of the cover.... (its the yellow one at the back)
  23. I was reading through EVO last night and started looking at the pictures of the Aston toward the back, and thought I recognised the wheels, it turns out they're speedlines!! They look bloody good for a 13year old design! I haven't got a picture, but i'm sure someone will.....
