  1. Well done Dirk. Nice to see you getting there, and glad you decided to swap the bolts and gasket. :)
  2. If it is the turbo letting go, don't drive it. They can ingest and then run on thier own oil, only way you can stop them is to stall them. Have you got any leaks in the inlet or exhaust pipework?
  3. lb/hour or cc/min I think....

That doesn't always work... You should take the top rad hose off and fill through that, slowly, then run it up to temp with the cap off till the bubbles disappear. I've airlocked my VR before whilst being extra careful. And yes, it does increase the pressure on the system.

How did you refill the system? They're quite easy to get air locks in.
  6. Yup... There was an interesting article on injector cleaning in ppc a while back.

The Ferodo DS2500 or the Mintex 1144 are both highly rated...
  8. Possible I suppose. Although whenever you're around I will be keeping a close eye on my digital camera from now on to make sure it doesn't take any unplanned trips into the gents.... Hahahahaha. When camera phones first came out I used to do it all the time, take someones phone, get a picture of myself, and set it as their wallpaper... Did I tell you about hugging the random bloke?

Laura Marling sounds HAMAMAMAMAMACHEESEAMAZING! Also, surprisingly, liking the Hungry Ghost off the new Cure album. Finally, absolutely bumming the arse off Jarvis Cocker - Fat children took my life.
  10. in the boot. There's a sticker on the inside of the rear edge of the boot floor, to the left of the centre of the car. Also contains the options etc on the car. But..... This question has come up regularly before, you should find answers like this on the search....
  11. Can't remember but if the clip is in place then it can't be fitted wrongly...
  12. Gearbox is easy, rear engine is tricky. Have a search on here, the mk2 golf deisel gearbox mount is good and a cheap replacement.
  13. It doesn't have the Vortech on it any more Steve....
  14. I did try to ring you to see how today went, but you didn't answer.
  15. I want to see more of the girl at the end.

Rocket from the Crypt - On A Rope. Futureheads cover of Hounds of Love. Some awesome british hip hop, which I don't know what it is or where it came from, but it's on my hard drive... And what I assume was Mastodon and Crack the Skye on Zane Lowes show tonight as I was feeding the cattle.
  17. Are you sure it's not some sort of Aston?
  18.   I like that. A LOT!
  19. He most certainly does; he deserves a bit of a beating when he recovers too - assuming reports of his lack of licence and insurance are accurate. The people I feel sorry for are the farmer who's got one less fence, and the coppers who had to clean up the mess in the middle of the night.. Hopefully I will be going on call with work over the coming months as I need the extra cash, I'll be attending fallen down trees, flooding, dangerous potholes and accidents overnight and at weekends for example. I'm under no illusion about what I'll get to see/put up with having spoken to some of the other engineers, people literally smearing themselves down the road, finding bits of body, or limbs in hedges. On one occasion a collegue was called out to a fatal accident which turned out to be one of his son's friends. The guy had pretty much minced himself. Cars are dangerous, and there are some pillocks who do themselves and others a lot of damage through stupidity, and carelessness. Some innocent people will get hurt and killed in accidents that are not their fault whatsoever. No matter what, whilst there are cars, there will be accidents... End of the day, we're not all supposed to live forever. Is it more of a tragedy that an 18 year old kills himself in a car he can't control, or a 23 year old is runover and killed, or a 27 year old catches cancer? People die every day. Meh. Maybe I'm cold inside, but this stuff happens all around us.
  20. Bummer. That exhaust is miles out... Can it go back? Will you try to replace it with another brand?
  21. Or not replaced the coolant as soon as they should have done. Could be many things. It's a 20 year old car, lots of stuff could have happened by now... I must put some new coolant in my car... It's got pretty much just water in at the moment. but I need to change the water pump and thermostat soon.
  22. Nope, it's where there hasn't been enough corrosion inhibiter in the coolant.
