  1. You can fill those patches with JB weld or chemical metal prior to skimming.
  2. She didn't care, she said "Didn't you tell him I drive it into things?" Will be interested to see the parts pre and post folding...
  3. Bloody hell, you don't hang about with these things do you? Interested to see how you get on with the seats. :)
  4. 1) there me lucky shorts 2) i had just bought him a drink and was making my move 3)you smell 1) Look like they're working, 2) Looks like it was working, 3) Yeah. Sadly I can't clean under the rolls of fat lying around my carcass properly.
  5. Errr. What are you doing to that man in your Avatar? And where did you get those pink Y-fronts?
  6. Well, if it's sitting around 90, then that sounds ok. The fans are subjective. As long as they are keeping the temperature about right, then I wouldn't panic too much...
  7. How often is quite often? What does the guage suggest that the temperature is?
  8. Not really. The Passat has a far larger radiator and hence coolant capacity than the corrado. You could try fitting a lower temp thermostat, but they can cause issues with fuel economy and increased engine wear.
  9. A lot of the cheap cables have issues with too many comunication errors when connecting to the ABS Ecu, changing the latency settings seems to sort this issue out though.
  10. Nah, just a bit of nitrogen on the grass, wasn't too windy here when we attacked it. Ground is getting a little bit hard for chain harrowing and rolling though... Hopefully we'll get a decent bit of rain this week, got a fair bit of sh1t to wash into the soil. Quite interested in the 3M stuff too... Kip - want to go halves on an applicator gun? :)

    Where to spend it?

How many miles has the car done? I'd look at making everything as solid as possible with that money. New wishbones, all new bushes front and rear, uprated rear ARB, cams, air filter, magnex, remap, 288mm brakes, braided brakelines... Might not make it loads faster, but, it'll be good and solid and ought to do you another 7 years without issues. As for the other ideas, you could supercharge it, but will your engine be solid enough? Will you want bigger brakes? Do you really want to commute to work with an angry snail whining at you?? Again R32, I'd not let storm developments look at my car, let alone part with my hard earned cash to allow them to bodge an R32 in. I'm not convinced a decent garage would supply and fit an R32 for £3k, maybe I'm wrong, but none of the R32 projects here at the moment are going smoothly, and they're all being done by competant people...
  12. There's a thread about this already. It's the latency settings on the USB/OBD adapter. Have a search on here for "latency" and you shoudl find the thread.
  13. So it's not an exact science? My recommended dipstick levels are now irrelevent? Only reason I ask is that I'm going to the 'Ring in a month without a baffled sump so oil levels are extremely important. Bit worried about over filling it too as I don't want to blow a hole in the block etc :help: No! If your car has been up to temp, and the oil cooler and pipework is full, then the normal dipstick marks should be used.
  14. That stamp is the bushing holding plate at the bottom of one of the shifters and is on all VW boxes I believe. Nice work you're getting done there. Really impressed! Found a ZAU instruction book, got the blob marker mounted and put a few bags through her now. Hopefully won't be too stripey round our way. :)
  15. Don't put really long bolts in, you'll knacker the ABS. I'd just look for bolts which are longer than the standard ones by the same thickness as the spacer...

  17. Aux water pump on a VR6.
  18. Yup. Click on the sig to see my gallery, I think there are some other pics in that.
  19. I've never had a fight with a man in a wooly jumper... You don't normally have an exposed chest either. Exposed ass is a different story however.... Haha. Actually, I always have my work shirt unbuttoned further than is strictly necessary or desirable... One of my friends managed to see my nipple on his first day in our office. The ladies love exposed chest mullet. And my manager says I can't get my arse out at work or I have to leave. :(
  20. who told you?? mrs beige by any chance  Nope, I found out for myself thanks.... :fondle: :) x x x
  21. No worries dude. Any problems with just give me a shout. :) I was struggling to remember how it all fitted together... I've never had a fight with a man in a wooly jumper...

    MAYO!

Nah, builds up quite easily... People panic too much about stuff like that. Keep driving it till it breaks properly...

    MAYO!

Moisture builds up in the engine and does have the effect of creating an oil-water emulsion on the inside of the filler cap. If you take the car up to temperature for a reasonable period of time, i.e. drive it a decent distance all the moisture will get a chance to evaporate from the engine.

    TIMING CHAINS

Nope, Gearbox has to come off. You can change the upper guide with everything still in place, but usually the tensioner pad needs changing too.
