Does anyone have the specs for VR cams, specifically, standard, schimmel 263 and shrick 268 please? I need to know inlet opening and closing degrees, inlet lift, exhaust opening and closing degrees and exhaust lift. Thanks!

Yup. Pretty certain it is.

Is your water level ok? Have you got the bypass valves (2 alloy blocks) in the heater lines? How is the cooling on the car?

I was under the impression that it was only the early cars that needed pretensioning? Anyway, as long as you only carefully loosen one bracket to do this, you shouldn't affect the alignment.

Water damaged fusebox?

on a curious note, i know the owners of a couple of the cars supplied for the Communist car feature and can tell you that the Beeb paid the owners the princely sum of £50 for borrowing the cars for the feature (filmed in early Oct) as the show 'had a budget'! the owners were also dished out a couple of tickets to the studio filming last week... the cars still had bits of tape and the like on them from camera mounts and when they were returned and one was also allegedly damaged :ignore: I'm sure I've heard another story about them damaging a car they used. I'd be livid...

You might need the plugs from the wiring loom to the original rear light bulb holders. I might have some of these knocking around. If not, you can use spade connectors.

Yeah, there were always a lot of halfwits around. Worst thing is when they totally underestimate the loader, especially with a flat 8 grab on.

Good to see pics Dave, and to get a favourable report on how they perform. I'll ave to scuttle out in a minute and measure the valver up and see if I can get away with dropping my VR to that height (I've got a 90mm splitter too) I hadn't actualy seen the springs before, so was a bit urprisd to see them in bright orange. Lol.

I got a set of cheap ones from JustMatz at E38, pretty pleased with them, although I don't imagine they will last too long considering they way I treat them.
