  1. It's a hydraulic fluid. the mount is filled with it to help absorb vibration, but the solid rubber unit works at least as well and doesn't leak. Sadly I'm afraid of London. :(
  2. A lot of people use Synta silver from VW, semi synthetic. You need 6 litres I believe.
  3. That'll be why it has a driveshaft next to it... Don't worry... I've attacked these ones half a dozen times or so over the summer, so I'm well aquainted with it...
  4. Have a family of weasels taken up residence in the ash tray? How's it going now? Get all the water leak malarky sorted ok? What's occuring with work now? :) Good work 8)
  5. It's your gearbox mount. Buy a mk2 deisel unit from GSF for £13. Fairly easy to replace too. Jack under gearbox, bolt out of centre of mount, remove 2 mount to gearbox bolts and loosen the third, rotate the mount out of the way, 2x bolts holding the mount into subframe, and mount pops out. Where do you live? I can throw it on in exchange for cash... :)
  6. I'll show you mine when they're done. It's nice and brake fluid resistant too.
  7. I've used silver hammerite on my 280s on the valver and been pleased with it, but after seeing Dom's Foliateced callipers, I think I'm gonna give that a try, seems to be a good smooth finish and really easy to clean, which will be fairly important given the colour :) I don't want to be taking the calipers back off in a year or 18 months to reguff around with them, so this extra hassle now will be worthwhile I hope....
  8. Just had a quick look at the calipers I left in the shed. Tiny rust spots are coming through already :( I guess the finish of the VHT paint should have given the crap coating properties away. Guess I'll be buying some Foliatec next week then. Another £10 wasted :( , although the hard work of cleaning them is done. I'll roughly key the surface before slapping the new paint around...
  9. Bloody hell, the storms still shiny after it's little nap. Midget looks good too, when's your dad going to start raiding your Dodo juice supplies?
  10. Are you trying to recreate Weird Science? Good luck with the wiring!
  11. Toad

    headlights poor.

It's just shonkey 15 year old wiring I'm afraid. Have a search, there's loads of info on here about these issues...
  12. Tell the dealer what colour it is-they will know which it is from that, but as I said, you'd just as well replace both now. The other one won't be far off letting go too.
  13. The switches commonly fail like this. Get it replaced ASAP as they will let oil out at a spectacular rate... Just as well do both while you're at it too.
  14. Pmsl! imagine me with longer hair and prettier and you got it  And you sure do got a perrdy mouth...
  15. Got any pictures of Herisites sister Karl?
  16. You want to be a bit careful with oiling filters on the vr. Too much oil can knacker the MAF.
  17. I think It's the dirty side, so it's pulled ito the material.
  18. Have you hit it with a hammer and punch yet?
  19. Little shits. I'd have probably lost my rag and run them over. Being young they shoudln't take up too much space in my boot...
  20. thermal switch / for models with towing facility / and / for models with radiator fan run-on / F >> 50-N-035 000 100C M10X1 1 pin yellow / KR,9A (32) 281919369 part number shows this on ekta for all years of 9a Fair enough. I didn't think they had it due to the different electrics. Anyway, it's only for the afterrun fan, not anything to do with fan operation whist the ignition is on. It's primarily there to keep the fuel lines from getting too hot, and only earths the fan when it's hot, so if the switch is faulty it will either not allow the run on or keep the fan running constantly when the ignition is off.
  21. Err can I be eaten alive after Tom please? :luvlove: I think she will be full. Hi Tom. Are you calling me fat???
