    yellow headlights

Don't like the sound of it personally. Photoshop?
  2. You might find the lines are perished around the tank connections or that the lid isn't tight. i did find I had a fuelly smell a lot in the summer in traffic on the few hot days, ended up putting it down to fuel evaporating out of the tank as I never found any leaks.
  3. Looks like the scirroco with a better looking arse. Still, not my bag, it's still too big.
  4. Is that a problem? I've been looking for a strong woman. Mostly so she can carry the shopping herself of course. ;)
  5. I don't think you have that temp switch on the late 9As Jim, I think the fan control unit by the expansion tank replaces it.
  6. You know that bumper.... I might be able to deliver.... Can I meet the teacher????
  7. Yarp. You can watch it doing it's thing with VAG COM. I think you need to take the car to someone who knows the engines, Continuing to run it whilst going on some rough ideas you pick up on the internet could well result in a lot of damage. :(
  8. How to make freinds and influence people vol. 1.
  9. I might have a 9A tb... It's onyl got 2 micro switches on anyway.
  10. 1. Yes 2. Not sure, don't think it'll make that much difference. 3. The company doing the maching will have the figures.
  11. ROFL. Well, I might well sell it once it's done and I've driven it for a bit. Dunno yet. That picture looks lovely. Cheers! Could you email me a high res one please?
  12. Does look very nice Mr Brown. :)
  13. Call me for some tips on advanced letterbox soiling.... :)
  14. Don't get a pattern radiator, they don't sit on the support beam properly :salute: I think the GSF/ECP ones are particularly cheap/nasty, but some pattern ones are fine. I fitted one years ago. Try finding a radiator specialist local to you who can get them in. They usually have an idea of which manufacturers are good, and which are not. Alternatively, you can't go wrong with VW.
  15. What model/age have you got? Anything else not working? On early cars there are 2 plugs in the back, one might not be plugged in. VRs should be 70l tanks. You can calibrate the senders but I don't know how. try searching on here. It's not unusual for the movement of the fuel to cause the level to go up and down. Why would the petrol tank vent out into a potentially hot engine bay? Don't think that's right somehow...[/quote:28cfv84q] I'm sure the tank is connected to the carbon canister in the engine bay, but it doesn't vent to atmosphere at this point. The fuel pump could have come loose in the tank. it should be clipped to the bottom, so you could be right. Just be prepared for a nice cold arm!
  16. Hope you've done that nut up on the lbj by now...
  17. But it would force any moisture out. I'd be looking at the plug, and the connections to and from it. Try the continuity between the coilpack and ecu. Hope you get it sorted soon Tom. Tom.
  18. Cheers for the compliments. :) To be honest, the rado is still very ill. It's just surrounded by lots of bits now. Will be good to finally finish it, still a long way off though. Been a bloody long time in bits as it is. Should get a few more bits sorted next month. Just about spent out at the moment...
  19. No worries. I assumed that it was in a bin in Wiltshire. :)
  20. It goes to the carbon canister. The pipe should run from the throttle body to that to the canister. Your throttle body seems to be blanked off with a bit of blue pipe, and I guess your carbon can is also gone. Just blank this fitting off too.
  21. I'm cutting the rear quarters out for someone else, won't take long to whip the rear panel off for you. Mind you, you could buy that nugget I mentioned the other day....
  22. Hmmmmm. If you want to buy her back and repair her I could cut some panels out for you to weld in...
  23. Shit. Looks like it's a gonner if the rear panel is that bent..
