  1. it has been running lean i noticed from the last service
  2. i've still forgotten to check this out on my car, i need to write a "TO DO" list, but that might put me off  Bought a 2nd car recentely so corrado is sat in garage
  3. well i may as well replace the cable then, i think its only the one that stiff. Is there any reason why its harder to turn the direction knob with the blowers on speed 4? As this is what caused the problem. trying to find the other end of cable is a nightmare :( been too cold today so gave up
  4. done it now  i was being stupid/blind, if you unclamp the cable 1st from the housing its much easier freed the cable and that seems to work fine when i push it. i think its just all the mechanism running out of grease, am going to grease it all and see what that does then
  5. well been out in the cold garage today, thought i may as well try and fix this as the cars just sat there in pieces. the controls seems fine to me, like you say it must be something to do with the cable, although i don't see them corroding or getting knocked about by anything. so i'm going to try and find the other end of the windscreen one, as its only when trying to select the windscreen its stiff. Is there an easy way to disconnect these metal cables, i had a go but not going to get mine off without bending the hooped end quite badly
  6. i was just reading this after a google search http://www.sheffieldsafercommunities.net i don't think its anything dodgy, just a way of getting your attention
  7. my rear axles bushes were in a real bad mess after 170,000 miles, they pretty much just feel apart when i took them out. i found i could rock the back end of car from side to side and see the bushes sliding
  8. found a few here http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/classic_ ... d=spitfire classic car sites will be the best place to look
  9. argh, i keep changing my front grill as i don't know what i prefer, got a debagded one atm, but that pic looks awesome. i think if i had more mods, rims etc then i'd keep the badge, but without any other mods the debadged one looks good 8)
  10. seen them before but still not convinced. What if you get a stone chip through the vinyl and moisture gets under it? Could the car development rust without it being visible?
  11. also if i took my car to the dealers, they seem to know less about it than i do  would rather look after it myself now

very nice, good mods there :) the early bumper has a different line to it where it meets the wing and the foglights/indicators are more recessed. You have an early bumper there, i don't know if the lower bit is different or not.
  13. for the money i still fancy one of these http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/859738.htm s14a touring, all the toys, leather, plus it RWD and turbo. and you get money left over.
  14. so are you doing all the hard brake lines then. I didn't do that one that runs above the exhaust section as mine seemed in pretty good condition compared to the to others. Looked a bit of a git to get to as well (main reason)
  15. Optional recall http://www.scribd.com/doc/228752/-corrado-vr6
  16. i remember finding somewhere online a thing about this being a recall

i got a bit carried away when i did mine, but i had broken down two or three times just because of a coolant leak. i think i did. -new rad -all the hoses -crack pipe -thermostat housing how mine looked for a while :gag: (i got loads of pics of variuos bits if you need them)
  18. pinched from someone elses post viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5088&p=47196&hilit=central+locking+pump#p47196
  19. am sure VBH's was her brothers, i know he used to drive it. Saw it round their house too 8)

get stuck in and do it yourself, its not a bad job to do, i quite enjoyed it and found loads of other bits "to sort out" while i had the front end off, like small bits of rust etc

for peace of mind the VW one is good quality, my original lasted 12yrs and 160,000miles replaced it last year (worth doing a few other coolant related bits at the same time)
  23. i think the standard speedline wheels are nice 8) -they look quality -suit the corrado -don't weigh very much -easy to clean
  24. i never seem to dry after washing if i'm going to use clay, but i wash again after clay
