rad, rad neck, bottom hose on the rad or where the sensor screws into the rad. If its near the battery. i had slight steam coming from there, and two days later the bottom hose popped off
  3. will look this up in the manual as i've no idea what that looks like or where it is  cheers for the tip, will see how i get on

i find with water leaks sometimes that only show themselves after a hard drive, and sometimes the leak is so slight that the coolant crusts up and can seal itself slightly
  5. so you didn't need to fit any new bits? thats a result
  6. would be good to see some really nice white ones, in a modern audi style, maybe color-code some bits. i seem to like them in any colour now, personally prefer dark and shiney ones
  7. i've noticed a few times, (mainly because i'm weird) that when i'm sat in car with it idling, and i very gently touch the accelerator, the slightest amount you could possibly press it to make the engine note change and hold it there. If i do the above for a few seconds and then let my foot off, the revs drop lower than idle speed and the engine nearly stalls, battery light comes on, then it just about picks up and idles as normal. I know i could just stop doing it, but i reckon it could have something to do with why it feels quite sudden/jekry when i'm off and on the accelerator during normal driving.
  8. take the door card off first just to have a look whats happening. try and pull the metal cable by hand and see if its loose, mine pulled through the guide. I'd put window up and tape it other the top of door so it can't fall. Replacing the whole mechanism is actually quite easy once you get going, there's a knack to getting the complete thing in and out of door, but no need to force it, it will slip in. I think when getting mine in i moved the window up and down while i got the mech in. Half goes in with window up, the other half with window half down etc
  9. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ppj0d081Mng trying to overtake an escort cossie  Admin Edit: NSFW due to language in video (unless you keep sound off!)
  10. "PADS - To suit Standard corrado pads" i just used pads intended for standard corrado brakes
  11. a pic i used when fitting mine, i put KW's on over christmas, they were KW1's though, but didn't have any problems fitting them and they alot shorter then what came off. i put my top mounts on with the car on the ground
  12. the big rubber should be underneath the car?
  13. i thinnk the rubber bit is upside down, something seems wrong to me
  14. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! nightmare, makes me so angry. found out who normally parks where you had to, may of been someone else annoyed at losing their space :mad2: :bad-words:
  15. great stuff, the car looks really good in the pics. some tasty purchases there too 8)
  16. this is the stuff they have next door today http://www.autoplusuae.com/products/restore/index.shtml meant to be really good  but i dunno, i'll probably give it a miss now
  17. that was my same thoughts if i'm honest, the noise goes away quite quickly and i've never really been worried about it. i told my neighbours i'd just an r32 engine if it breaks
  18. my neighbour has been made unemployed, so him and a mate have started buying cars off ebay, fixing them up and trying to sell them. They heard me start my corrado and commented on it sounding knocky when cold, i said its always done that, been like it since i bought it etc, not too worried. they have suggested using wynns oil treatment, or slick50 to lessen the noise, They chucked a can in a car they working on and its made a massive difference. Would people advise using something like that or not? I've never really liked the idea of addictives but reading the can it sounds ok
  19. probably been done before, but i'm still a fan of the nimbus grey
  20. they are a bugger to undo if they are original ones. sometimes it best to replace the bits and just cut off the old stuff. you may need to remake the hard line if it doesn't have the flare on the end
  21. i know people say that about them, buts there's loads on the road and it can't all be bad. for a couple of hundred pounds i might take the risk, even if it only gets me through winter it'll be worth that
  22. to tell the truth i ended up paying my local garage to fit them as i got fed up. from what they told me it all went on fine, the hardest work was getting all the old stuff off
  23. i think someone on here gave me the tip of fitting a jubliee clip around the two prongs on the springy type clips and tighten that until clamp is loose
