  1. i might do them all then, is it worth getting some kinda uprated mounts i hear about on here?
  2. whereabouts is the rear mount, or all of them for that matter? are they hard to replace?
  3. yes, it was a large bill  thats why i'm still a bit miffed its not driving as well as i thought, am sure there is something wrong. even turning into tightish bends at about 30mph it feels odd to me, like the car is pitched at a funny angle and the loads feel a bit all over the place to me, its just not "planted" on the road. i could type an essay trying to describe all the weird sensations. its could well be an engine mount or gearbox mount causing it all, but my mind is all over the place thinking its lots of things, which is why i ended up with a big bill before as i convienced myself it all needed replacing  i think this weekend ill take everything out of car and experiment, try to find exactly where the noise is. I'm sure it isn't my drinks bottle rolling back and forth on the passenger side tray :?
  4. i have replaced the TRE's & balljoints already, the thing is i don't know if they could be knackered again due to something else being not right, but there isn't much left that i know of to change
  5. i'm hoping this is something to do with the instabilty of the car and dodgy steering i've been having is really fecking me off now :x
  6. only when i pull away quickly, i get a noise like "donk" nearly like "clonk" but more donky. seeems to be from passenger side front kinda area, have checked out most things and all seems nice and tight. could it be something to do with driveshafts? do driveshaft affect handling?
  7. got them from this: to this so far:
  8. cheers guys :) not driving it shouldn't be a prob as the brakes are in my room waiting to be fitted. how good is the cleaner? how clean were your calipers Dom before painting. have been at mine with wire wool and sand paper but still can't get every bit of black dirt off them, thinking of just painting them now, too much rubbing to get them like new
  9. anyone used this? is it a spray or a brush on product? thinking of getting some to do the 288 calipers i have sat around. i take it i need to cover up the hole for the piston and bleed nipples etc, Calipers are in pieces at the mo
  10. i thought the same about yours, they pretty much the same cars 8)
  11. super, that would be great :D i think you meant the best colour for leather, not boring
  12. yes, blown coolant hose. its not fun overtaking loads of cars off a roundabout then blowing up in front of them
  13. wrap them in sellotape  i did that while being extremely helpful fixing a mates alarm
  14. yeah i think at some point i will be sanding the seats and recolouring them, but for the meantime am just going to use the cleaner, balm and protector stuff i got. bought it from the same place as KADVR6. reds a bit bright for me  not too original either :( so will stay black
  15. cant you just turn the siren off, under the bonnet? with the little computer like key?
  16. very nice indeeed! i'd get rid of the orange side reps, makes such a difference
  17. heres what i got not had a chance to use it properly, just applied a little to a bolster to test it out before i splash it everywhere... cleaner seem very good so far am going to have a bash at using the colour balm on the steering wheel as its look a bit worn Before pics: not started job yet
  18. i got some stuff in the end, a separate cleaner, colouring balm and a protector will get the details up later, but basically got told that fixing the cracking would involve more than rubbing a lotion into it. so just cleaning it and protecting it till i figure out what to do. i.e: wetsanding the cracks etc
  19. just checked bill and think i was confused your right! £75 for the wishbones, and £55 was the track rods and ends
  20. well i fitted new track rods and ends while i was there, so had to anyway, but i think if you mark everything you should be ok
  21. i only paid £55 for new wishbones from VW, with the bushes
  22. did them on mine, quite simple really, just undo the track rod end and it slides on over the track rod. part no for the boot: 357422831B = £12.05 + vat each another VW rip-off i also bought the clips to go with it, but couldn't get them to work so used cable ties which seemed to work just as well and much easier to fit. its also advised you get the steering gear grease: AOF06300004 = £5.71 + vat
