Stick to german cars. Alfas look ok but they are put together by the blind. Spend the money on getting the Rado into shape again. you wont regret it!

Wheel Creaking - update - solved (hopefully!)
Not_Aircooled_or_Taxfree replied to blackcat's topic in Drivetrain
An update.. Firstly, this isn't Alex, it's his bro. We've prodded it a bit more this evening, and have come away with more more questions rather than any answers. Firstly, do VR6 gearboxes come with limited slip diffs, or some other clever diff thing? The reason I ask this is that we jacked up the car and tried spinning the wheels in gear whilst ticking over, in theory I could then apply a bit of lock and listen to it's clunky grindy noise up close without risk of running over my head. The problem was that when we tried this, with both front wheels hanging free the offside (grindy one) would slow to a stop - fair enough, I think, there's obviously a little resistance from the new brakes that bro fitted. Only it's more than that. cos when I chock up the nearside wheel, thus forcing the offside one to spin again, the diff seems to snatch at it, rocking the car and engine to a fairly alarming amount, given that it's on axle stands. This behavior could be expected from something fitted with an LSD, however, if so, why does it only work one way? So the next question is, if there's a problem with the diff, maybe some sort of internal resistance, would it manifest itself as a grindy boingy noise at the wheel itself? I can't see it personally, but I'm not familiar with all the cleverness that goes into a VR6. Finally, if it isn't the diff, when else could it be? The noise is difficult to describe, but imagine something rubbery and springy being scraped against something metallic - that happens once a revolution of the roadwheel. Cheers for any thoughts.. G -
Can anyone suggest where the oils coming from (See pics)
Not_Aircooled_or_Taxfree replied to mtc R32's topic in Engine Bay
Mots of it comes from the middle east or though the US still produces quite alot. Believe it or not but oil is made up of dead organic matter, but it is refined a little before we get our hands on it! If that helps answer your "wheres the oil coming from?" question! (He He He) Hope you get the problem sorted. My VR is looking a little dirty too! -

I have been watching the steady evolution of this car for ages now and i am very impressed/green with envy at what you have turned out. I am looking forward to seeing it at the coming shows. A real head turner. I would love to see some info on things like BHP and how much you think it cost to make it look/ride like it does. Thumbs up!!! -

I liked it when that Swedish Kegosomething was bent by the Stig! (Who is he BTW?) -
Zippy you are right. If a chav had done it then there would have been some Too Fast Too shit seat belt pads, a wonkey screen visor and what ever free stickers had came with Max Power that month!

Yes the rusty look! Trig, I will believe anythink most people say!

I have yet to see good corrado bumper replacement. They don't seem to match the shape of the car correctly. However i am a lover of stupid wide arches!
-
It is ok i think. I like the physical shape but not too sure on the paint. When i look at it i get "Paper Bag" Vibes? What is the name given to that style of painting?
-
I like! If you think of the other 'mods' that some tasteless gimps do to the beloved (slightly gay) shape of the Corrado, it is quite refined. I think this is a tastful mod and as for the 'keep it on a Lambo' theme i would rather see it done well on a Corrado then a Nova or Saxo. Not sure about the colour, but i am colour blind. Is it green or brown?
-
I dont know much about anything let it be known but are they ever put on old bugs and all that aircooled shite? I think i am on the fence on this one.

Have you looked at your water pump? Mine made a death noise when it was in the process of trying to grind itself to death!
