Oh Oh Oh Deary Dear - What ive spotted this week!!
Dr Forinor replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in General Car Chat
This is the closest I could find man... But I'm pretty sure you are thinking of another one... 'cos I know I am. -
Agree with you there, and the Corrado is definitely a car that I would choose over many cars, newer or otherwise.
-
Well, to take some heat off Jim, I had a K reg Rover 214 before I bought this Corrado....
-
Clio 182 may be fast, it may handle great... but overall, Corrado for me please.
-
EXACTLY man! Mine only ever needs one click, it wont go into 2 clicks a lot of the times, only very occassionally can I get it into 2 clicks! @ssholes!
-
Well I stood there for the whole period of the testing and I seen the play, and it was just "a slight rock", it really didn't look all too bad at all. I'm guessing it's fine then? Just a little rant: They don't half *yank* the handbrake up eh!! :x And... AND the fecker tried to lift the boot by putting his hands under the spoiler...
-
B@stards! So how I can be sure that the play in them is how it should be or if it's more than it should be?
-
Firstly... WOOHOO!!!!!!! Passed MOT, so damn chuffed as most (all?) of you can probably understand. But, the guy said that there is a little play on both of the rear wheel bearings, and most likely just need some adjustment, ie very slight play. My question is, should I just get them adjusted or would I be better going for new wheel bearings?

The way I see it is I would pay more than the odds to have something that I really want, but I wouldn't even buy a bargain if I wasn't 100% happy. In your case it seems like the colour really bothers you, you'll be seeing it everyday for as long as you have the car, and if you respray it... well then it's a colour that the Storm didn't come in.. therefore technically not a Storm. I would say don't buy since you wont be 100% happy with it.

I can't reverse up my driveway (I like the idea of driving straight off rather than reverse down and turn around) so I have to drive straight up, and even then I have to approach at an angle, especially when I leave other it will scrape. And I have problems with certain speedbumps only when there's more than 2 people in the car, but that's "just" the heatshield...

I dont completely remember if I even checked in 4th gear or not, but I havent checked while revving stationary. I'm pretty certain it's from the wheel, a passenger said it sound like its from the front left wheel too. I'll check in 4th gear and stationary too.

Hey guys, I've just started to notice this recently, in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear, between 2500 and 3000rpm, I hear a noise from the front left wheel what appears to be some chaffing against the wheel. It's not a scraping sound, sounds more like a sound that would come from rubbing 2 pieces of "coarse cloth" together but a louder obviously, I'm not sure if that makes sense, but I'm not sure how else to describe it. Any ideas anyone?

So far, I have Pagid FR pads on the front and OE pads on the back with OE discs all round, and the backs develop more dust than the front. So from that I guess it's pretty safe to say that the OE pads make more dust than the Pagid FRs, and the back wheels are always harder to clean the fronts. Pagid FR for me please.

Lol, fair enough. But yeh... I'm hoping in 2006 thre will be another half...

Car going in for MOT... good luck needed!!!!!

Send some good thoughts my way too folks! -
Goddamn they look good... me wants!
-
Yup, sound like a flat battery to me too, if you do jump start it, make sure you leave the leads connected for a while to let it top a little before tryin to start it. I jump started my VR6 with a 1.2 Corsa, just left it longer to charge up a little, hopefully it should be fine. Don't try to start it again until you have charged the battery a little first, if you keep trying to start and hearing the clicking, you are likely to burn something out, can't remember the name of it but a friend that was there with me at the time of my battery going flat told me.

And sound-wise, how do they compare against OE? Sound wise as stock past 3000 rpm, below that you just get a subtle and meaty burble. The idle has a very purposeful bassy thrum to it too. One of the best exhausts for quality and sound imo. That is EXACTLY what I am looking for actually. Now which are you talking about, Supersprint or Magnex, or are both about the same for sound?

Can anyone point out what the main differences are between Magnex and Supersprint please?
