Jstar, Did you end up getting a seal? I fancy doing my drivers side but can't see how VAG can justify the 60 quid or whatever it is they charge. Has anyone tried using a length of "standard" seal cut to size?

racingswamp46, Yeah my rears catch occasionaly nothing major but i think my archs have been trimmed already. They do catch with people in the back. I have FK Konigsports and even with the damping turned right up they still rub if i have people in the back. Well worth it when you look at the car from the angle of your first pic or from behind! Also what tires are you running at the back? Mine are 205/45/16 federals and the wheels are 9".

Yes you need to change the mechanisn too as the passat handle has a much longer lever operating the mechanism. Its very simple just remove two allen bolts on the mechanism and it pulls off. Put the passat mechanism on your car then put the passat handle on. Another benefit is the passat/toledo handles are a lot stronger than corrado ones. I gave mine a good clean and regrease before i put them back together and they work like new.

They will look like corrado ones but have no locks. You will need the mechanism from the door of the passat also. I used Seat Toledo ones off an S plate.

So zymol or swissol? and i take it these clay bars are worth having? I had heard that blue tac works just a well as clay bars, can't remember where i heard that though so i'm guessing it could just be verbal diahorrea!

I use Autoglym "for dark colours" and am very impressed with it, it seems to last ages and smells good enough to eat! Haven't tried meguairs or swissol yet though.

I've done this with the kit off ebay and i'm not 100% happy with the clock illumination. Anybody had good results with changing the filter to blue and using standard bulbs?

I'll try ringing for a quote and if they ask if its modded i'll say i don't have clue, you can send someone out to check? Doubt very much they would go to all of that bother but you never know eh. Just thinkit would be seriously shit if you got no payout for something you had no idea about. No car insurance specialists on here?

Fortunately not walesy i never even get a chance to take her out these days, but i "forgot" to declare the mods on mine and am now thinking about a full agreed value policy with everything declared just in case. Just can't see how they can stitch you up if you don't know the exact spec of your car etc. If so every second hand car buyer would have to do a hell of a lot of research just to make sure a car isn't 40mm lower than stock or whatever. Merry crimbo btw walesy.

Has anyone ever been left with no payout after being hit by someone else? For example if you didn't know anything about cars and it turned out the car you bought had non standard wheels and was lowered without you realising are you liable regardless of the fact that you didn't have a clue?

Supercharged, What size and type are the bulbs from the top of the display? also are the mfa etc ones the same?

Well i'll defo be in if its going to be soon, i take it it will be blue bulbs for the top section and red for the lower section?

Shilakadaddy, Did you just replace the original bulbs with coloured leds? If so where did you get them etc? Been meaning to do this for ages.
