  1. Petros, I was thinking more about the locality for you, i've never actually had work done there yet but i've seen some of the cars they've built and spoke to john and hes well clued up. Let me know how you get on.
  2. Bedrock Veedubs know their rados and they are in motherwell.
  3. KARMANN, Where are you from mate? I'm in bathgate, quite glad i missed that rr day now!
  4. olly elworthy, thanks i don't like to bitch about places/people but given the circumstances i thought people better be warned.
  5. kevHaywire, Yep thats the one, the guys i spoke to were really sound it all went tits up when the woman came on the phone. Suppose she must have something to prove working in a male dominated world.
  6. Elephant were by far the cheapest for me, 23 years old 3 years ncb £340 tpft.
  7. Jim, cheers mate, i've dropped them an email. This wouldn't bother me normally but you'd think after all the messing me about they would at least refund me the full cost of the wipers!
  8. It was a switch card unfortunately, its a royal bank of scotland maestro card. Do you know much about the distance selling regs?
  9. Thought i would share my experience with these breakers, i ordered a gear shift cable for my corrado and also a pair of lupo gti wiper arms and blades, (bearing in mind that i specified that the wipers had to be the gti aero wipers). That was on the 10th of feb, so i expected the package to arrive some time the next week. Thursday came and still i had recieved nothing (those that have gone without their corrado for any length of time will know how anxious i was) so i gave them a call only to find out that they had completely forgotten about the order! The guy i spoke to was reasonable and assured me they would be dispatched next day delivery. Next day came and nothing again, called them again and was told that there had been a problem with my card number and they had tried calling me which was a lie. They then refused to send the package next day delivery as it would be weekend prices, fair enough maybe. Finally got the package today and surprise surprise the wipers are from a non gti lupo! Called them again and they refused to refund the me the cost of sending the wipers back to them! Trading standards spring to mind.
  10. Black standard looking c on estorils travelling eastbound on edinburgh road (bp garage) in bathgate. About 10am on tuesday 14th.
  11. Spotted a blue valver at halfords/maplins in livingston. Put a card on with the forum address, think it was an m plate. on estorils.
  12. Mine did that and i flushed it through with a garden hose and refilled it at the radiator and its been perfect ever since. Has it been topped up recently? Doing that can introduce an airpocket into the system.
  13. jenks, Is carl his username on svag? i only need the cable now i got a mate to weld the pathetic short shift that was in it.
  14. Located a 2.0 16v Corrado (which i'm assuming is a late car) at a breakers, can anyone tell me if the shift cable from this will fit my '92 G60? Nearly there!
  15. Thats brilliant mate i'll be able to get a cable from a breakers now rather than paying vag nearly 70 pounds! Much appreciated mate.
  16. Thanks mate, which one is the shift cable and which one is the selector cable? the one i need is the one that attaches to the gear lever itself - the front to rear one i think?
  17. davidwort, Are the gear change cables on the passat the same as the ones on the corrado? If so i'll be able to get one at the scrappy! btw the passat i saw at the scrappy had that weight on it so could be a cheap source of them
  18. PhatVR6, Do you still have the cables? I will be in need of one now that i've snapped mine! my car is a 92 G60. Its the one that attaches to the gear lever itself.
  19. jenks, http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36985 I've been kind of immobilised lately! Don't suppose you know of someone who makes short shift kits do you? I need to get a replacement and get a new cable fitted and adjusted, don't fancy having a go myself.
  20. BigTartanJudge, Did you ever find out about the Mk3 Gti 16v box ratios being better? They should be easy enough to get hold of too.
  21. Andy Brookes, Cheers mate, i can't really figure out what he means but it should make sense once i have a look at it tmow. Don't fancy cutting my bodywork up! Surely this has happened before, or has everyone else got sense?!
  22. Does anyone know if a selector from another gearbox will go on to my g60 box? looking back i think i could have lived with the gear lever as it was!
  23. Thought i would run a die down my gearstick so that i could then cut it down half an inch but the die i had is a wider thread pitch than standard, i gave it a go anyway and as the die tightened i snapped my gear stick clean off! Does anybody know how to replace the gear stick/selector?
