  1. try to get an older alpine unit, one that has come down in price..... you will like it.. E.g i spent £300 on my HU and its about £150 if that now..
  2. Well first you need to see if you have a spark fuel at the engine. Also if you have no fuel and you still hear the pump it may be worth checking the small filter on the bottom of the in tank filter. Oddly enough it stopped my scirocco storm from starting,
  3. i think the car may be a bit hotter at those speeds to! lol seen better chops

    wrong bonnet

any pics mate, just would like to see what late and earyl mix looks like?
  5. yep I hate it too, don’t like leaving my car anywhere that it isn’t locked lol! (even then?) Glad to see you good to go for another year of corrado fun!
  6. I so would if i could mate, yours looks sweet as :-) (p.s keep it btw) I may brave ebay again after my shock and look for some lol
  7. agreed, its just crazy..... ill have to go porka wheels based on that price  :!:
  8. I did it on my car using an old scirocco mech and made a hybrid of the corrado one, does work but the area of clearance of the screen is smaller than my old scirocco with single wiper as the shape of the screen only seems to allow a 20" blade. Still not bad and was cheaper than lupo wipers for me. Also id does work better than standard arms BUT If I was gonna spend £60 on a kit i would go for lupo ones.
  9. check it out.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/15-OE-VW-BBS-RA-W ... dZViewItem
  10. vw probably just told them that they have one, meaning the new style one as the part number will have been superseded with the late style one. They do it all the time with other things. Gutted mate, and after all that polishing... Fingers crossed that VW had a surplus old one available ??
  11. Bummer mate!!! My screen had been replaced in the past and isn't quite right, I have heard a lot of stories about rado screens. However yours takes the whole packet of biscuit !! Photos with time and date index, digital and normal. Letter to head office and a letter from then saying they will pay for what ever work needs doing. Another problem may be that I have recently heard that the older style bonnets are now obsolete from vw??

    Guage mounts

Well I have put gauges in the place you want to but I used a holder designed for a mk2 golf tray, not perfect but looks fine, maybe cheaper if you can find one?

  15. same in my car now, engine noise seems to be the main thing, however i do think it is better but then again I don’t think its possible to silence a C!
  16. I had a 95 220ce auto... was not to bad on the run up to about 40mpg but more often than not 30-35 ish. Fantastic car but smashed by an old man in a ford   . The basic engines are the same in most later models, and for a 2.2 it was quite economical, very smooth and refined. BUt i always fancied one of those 156's
  17. I cant find the list i made but it was mainly borrowd from here another well known forum
  18. i too am a student and challenge him to find another student with a better car!! (or at least get a 320 straight 6 or 323 etc) 8)
  19. think that passat or vr is the normal way to do it.. i had a list somewhere ill have a look in the morn :-)
  20. whp? or fly wheel... remember that vw figs are fly.... does it need a service? and timing as above? rich mixture??
  21. thank you mr dink...ill add a post to for sale... :-) they willl come with discs if that will make a differance?
  22. bttt :-) could be good for someone with a vr as i hear that the pad area if much bigger on 288's!
  23. if its like mine (and I hope its not) it could well be the lever and cog at the base of the unit. This controls the flap that controls air flow direction. I have been trying to get a new cog from VW for months but they cant find it on there system - the diagram that they have is incorrect!! The cog in mine was worn so the range of movement of the flap was limited..... If I find the part number (or if you do) ill let you know
  24. whoops!!! thanks corradowales - it is my birthday soon!! lol. well if they will not fit my c would the fit a 5 stud c?? cos its a mate who is selling them and if they fit ill add a post to for sale :-)
  25. I have a 2L16v but have the chance of some 288 carriers and callipers from an octavier. Would they fit on the c? And would I be able to get any 288 discs for 4 stud?....maybe use 280mm discs??
