  1. BTS? Blue temp sender...? Been changed by the dude who had the car before me as he had probs starting in the morning, is much worse now than before, so I think there may be more to this than meets the eye. Was thinking of changing the stat and housing anyway so may try that.
  2. Right, cleaned out my ISV, no joy, still idling very poorly when cold, down below 500. Is OK when hot though.
  3. Heh, I remember he said some other guy called Dom had it, not Dinkus apparently though. So it wasn't you Dutch.
  4. Don't think we disturbed anything... will check a few things tomorrow. Think it came from Dutch's engine, didn't it?
  5. My mates trying to get me to replace the throttle cable.
  6. Maybe the cable was stretched, remember Ian said my idle screw had been over adjusted Have taken some pics but had the camera on 7 megapixels so they are too big at the mo EDIT : There you go... cheers Tom
  7. Right, got the dashpot back on, still not idling correctly. Throttle cable is WAY too loose, it's on the end clip and there is still play in it. Any ideas on sorting out this idle problem?
  8. Think mine would have to be a GT40.
  9. They wouldn't be a mirror would they? They are both supposed divert the light the same way are they not?
  10. Cheers RW1, I've got a few bits to try and play with myself now, first I need access to VAGCOM, hoping to find someone over here with it. Seems my car had probs in the past and people have over adjusted the idle screw, so when I put in my new TB there are a few teething troubles.
  11. Mine does the same on idle, seems to want to idle too low from cold, and is OK when it warms up. I'd be interested to hear remedies for this too because I have to slightly depress my pedal on start up. Mine cuts out when I put the clutch down because I forgot to replace my dashpot when I upgraded my TB  Apparently my TB had been adjusted too
  12. I'll be diplomatic and say it's both of you guys fault!
  13. I'll ask him to send it back then... thought the revs were falling too quick!
  14. Oops and could this be my problem. Oh and I got a Corrado one.
  15. Just done the ECU reset, and as I pulled up to the house it stalled again :( I swapped the TPS over, was a different one, a small improvement (engine isles a bit better) but still stalls sometimes. Can't do the basic settings as I have no access to VAGCOM.
  16. My Dad had an Alfa and we must have broken the sump guard at least 5 times. Think he had sports suspension on it but that was put in by the Alfa dealer. (Granted the Manx roads can be a bit poo though)
  17. Will do, but am I going to have problems not doing the basic settings?
  18. Swapped over, a little better but still not right. A different model of TPS. Haven't had a chance to do an ECU reset yet as it seemed to be OK when I stopped. Started it up again an hour or so later and same problem, it stalls first time, then when it gets going it ends up labouring while idling about 400rpm. After a run it idles a bit higher.
  19. When I said didn't change... I just meant I took what Ian sent me and did a straight swap. I've got a few things to play with / test tonight, so I'll probably be back on here when it gets dark asking more questions.
  20. Do I need access to VAGCOM to do the basic settings? And no, I didn't change the TPS. I shall try.
  21. No worries, just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going mad with this engine revs dropping quicker thing! Seems to be quicker at lower revs too.
  22. I'll have a butchers aroung tonight to see if anything else has come loose. Tom - fancy coming for a drive to see what you think?
  23. Yeah, I meant the TB gasket.
  24. It's not just idle though, the engine revs seem to drop quickly too. Could it be a gasket problem?
