    You won't use more fuel, in fact a lot of people find use less as you tend not to need to rag the hell out of the engine so much.

    Why do they need irrefutable evidence? The constructors and competitors agree to a set of rules and if it is felt by the "powers that be" that the rules have been flouted, then the offenders can be punished according to the rules.

    Not significant no. the 50 bit is the sidewall height. No, 50 is the sidewall ratio. Therefore there will be a sidewall height discerpancy.

    I just trimmed off the inside edge with a sharp knife. I then got some black roof and gutter sealant, and used that to fill in the gaps as they always fill up with water.

    Mine didn't fit great, had to cut a few bits off to get it to fit.

    Wheels - yesh Tyres - no (IIRC they are 225/45/17? - You need 205/40/17)

    312s under 16s - it's a hit and miss thing. All you could do is find someone else with 312s and try your wheel on their car.

    Sorry fella, can't remember. You could jsut find some other VWs of a similar age - they have the same tumblers.

    Aw man, don't listen to these guys, your motor is worth more than that. Took me 3 months, but keep on printing out Autotrader, Pistonheads, Forum ads with cars of similar qualities. I got 4k for a slightly lower mileage but lower spec car VR6, first offer was similar to yours.

    Polo C Formel e. It was a bit of a pile, and I think it failed every test on the MOT.

    The earlier VR6s are dizzy and not coilpack, don't think they are particularly less reliable tho.

    2 on each side. I've got 312s and 288s and the pins are the same on each.

    Stealth count as southern half? They rebored my 2.9 by 0.5mm, so I'm sure they can do a 2.8

    It's a general consensus that GSF bearings, mounts etc are no good, and it's best to get robbed by a stealer.
