  1. Been for a test drive in VR6 Turbo!!! I was karting in wigan yesterday so called into Dubsport for a chat about turbo's n' stuff and Jeff offered me a ride in a Mk3 VR6T with their stage 1 kit. Power wise is 300bhp and 380lb/ft. First impression was, needs 4x4. Second this thing is wild, max torque is at 3000rpm and sounds extremely angry when you get your foot down but can potter around like a normal VR, very quite, very refined. Haven't been in a supercharged VR but i've no doubt that they'd be easier to drive but wouldn't match the thrill of that boost. Stage 1 uses 1bar, not sure how that compares to the VF stage 2? Awesome, and theres a new kit on the way (HGP 2day install time!!).
  2. Legendary car. Inspired me alot, think sasha's car is a better all rounder but that car has much more presence. Personally i don't believe the 202mph though.
  3. It not too bad, think they must have dragged a grit covered hose pipe over the bumper. T-Cut most of the marks out but some have gone through to the primer. Front end is getting painted again anyway as i picked up a nasty chip on the bumper and the bonnet was damaged (and so was Bill Atkins) by a clown with a 406 on the GTi Festival, speeding with a trailer which threw rubble into the air hitting mine and Bill's cars.

  7. :shock: , too generous Russ. Going to owe you alot of favours for that!!! I took that pic about a year ago at a local meet, one of my favourites. Keep meaning to take some new shots like the ones i did last year but the car's filthy at the moment and the builders have scraped the bumper and wing :mad: I'll keep you posted on my cars winter makeover.
  8. they look like 8's to me. I'll measure the dish on mine for you from the outside edge of the dish to the surface with the split rims bolts so you can be sure. back in a bit.

  11. yep, that way you know were the water has got in if it stutters while your washing it.
  12. i don't push it to the limit for obvious reasons but its driven alot harder than you'd expect.
  13. yeah, i know mate just balancing the debate. It was turning to a "dumb americans" thread thought point out they do far better conversions than the UK, remember the triple turbo VR6.
  14. if your thinking about getting a windscreen replaced, ask a bodyshop for a recommendation :wink: They usually stick to a trusted fitter. I know that Jason called in specialist to remove and replace the glass on my car.
  15. Cos' it could be a blast too and i'd like to find out. Its going to have some serious mechanical grip, if i only have to change the rear mount back to std i can live with that.
  16. Personally i've got nothing but respect for guy's on vortex. The prep, quality and innovation of the cars they build is awe inspiring. I'm sure you've seen the bodywork on Russell car developing or the engine prep on Doctor T's car and the semi-space framed rear engined 24V turbo. These are home built projects!! Their not stupid.
  17. my cars going to be a go kart then. The coilovers are about 3/4 hard and i'm currently fitting a seam welded cross member, all three VF engine mounts, upper and lower front strutbraces in addition to eibach anti-roll bars. Ooh and its completely polybushed. Its going to be a complete bitch to drive :?
