  1. Though i may as well give my 2p worth, I've been thinking long and hard about wether to go this year, thats the problem for me. I shouldn't have to. I should be buzzing and excited about going. I remember my first Inters in 2000 i could sleep the night before waiting to see the best VW's in the country. The show has lost its draw, there isn't the enthusiasm for Inters because it doesn't feel like our show anymore. The traders are mostly enuthusiasts who turn a hobby into a small business and find themselves in the situation of have to pay £1200+ for a stand for two days. Its very unlikely that even the big companies could turn over enough cash over the weekend to make the show worth visiting. I spent 2 years on the concours scene and felt and was dismayed that i could predict the winners at inters by who the judge was, not the quality of the cars and being charged £8, to me thats bitting the hand that feeds you. Moving to the sprint £ 7 a run when its £10 all day a a proper venue like santa pod? The last santuary was the club stands, free of show politics, just a bunch of people having a chat with friends they possibly see only once or twice a year and i'm saddened that they feel theres profit to be made here too. This is turning out more negative than i planned....but its off my chest now. However shows which are run by enuthusiasts were disappointing last year and that our fault for not making the effort to join in. Sure some shows are along way to travel but theres probably a bunch of people at your regional meet hoping you'll join them and drive down in convey making the trip to the show enjoyable (or more so) than the show itself. My favourite show ever was York in 2002, i was in a 10 car convey all driving flat out down the B1228 after the show to Maccy D's, it was a blast. The show itself isn't the be all and end all, just a focal point which sells sh*t burgers. Its the friends you make and the reward of people respecting your hard work and leaving inspired to have a go themselves Inters may not be the show it was, that could be a good thing. Theres sure to be some great cars appearing well into the season this year as a result of is fall from grace. I could name a handful. I still feel theres a place for a GTI International, it just shouldn't be profit driven. I'm hoping the traders and the owners clubs put there heads together, hire a decent venue and hope for nothing more that to raise enough gate money to cover the venue hire.
  2. Current lambda is fine, thought if its a nasty job to change it now would be the time to do it. But if as you say its unlike to be worn i may as well replace it when/if it fails. cheers
  3. Can the lambda be replaced without having to remove the CAT? Phoned GSF and VW today the genuine part with 4 wirings is £80 and money's tight this month. Wondering if i can fit the bypass with the old lambda and then replace the lambda the folowing month without having to remove the bypass pipe? TIA
  4. I'm replacing the CAT with a Supersprint By-pass pipe this weekend and plan to replace the lambda as a matter of cause. Anyone know if a 92' VR uses a 2 or 3 wiring probe? Been quoted about £30 for one from GS&F but they need to know the number of wires. TIA
  5. It must be complicated mind because when my VR went in for body work, the body shop wouldn't touch the rear quarter window, they left it to a specialist to both take it out and put it back in again   Cheers Thats a good thing in my book, many companies bodge it and just mask the window. cheers
  6. A friend of mine has fitted one to his polo, doesn't rate it. Said spend the extra £50 and buy a genuine VW motorsport or streove one.
  7. As i said, completely stripped. The whole shell is being dynamatted and then lined with soundproofing including the floorpan and roof. My aim for the car is to be an aston martin/456Gt quality car in a VW shell. The front bulkhead isn't being soundproof as the would be a crime. cheers
  8. At the moment theres just a drivers seat and a dash. cheers
  9. a seasonal pic. cheers & happy new year
  10. Later C's also appear to ride higher.........
  11. I guess you should be able buy them from a fiat dealer. I hope your fitting them to a fiat and not spoiling a C.
  12. My biggest gripe with resprayed C's is the fact not many bodyshop will do it properly and remove the rear side windows. Shame as you can spot it a mile off. cheers
  13. Kahn wheels are well past there sell by date. BBS or Porsche wheels are the way to go. cheers
  14. Look like a factory wheel. prefer something a bit racier myself. cheers
  15. They always go rusty when you take and angle grinder to them. Usually the paint bubbles about a 1cm from the lip (caused by the heat?). Personally i'd roll them every time rather than have to pay someone to deal with the rust later + grinding the lip off completely will weaken the panel too. cheers
  16. Sounds about right. Most place charge £75+Vat per arch before any paint. cheers
  17. Moto-craft in pudsey have an arch rolling tool. The also do all the paint for JCT600 Ferrari/Porsche. cheers
  18. If you need an electric polisher, your using the wrong polish. cheers
  19. rmn, Theres a pic in the members gallery, I'll add a new one later of the rear bench with a Max Power chick. cheers
  20. 01274 533370 or 07976 278733. cheers
  21. There 996 wheels either GT2 or GT3. 8.5x18 at the front 10x18 at the back. The arches have been extended in metal 2.5cm each side to fit the rims. Prefered his old Turbo 2 split rims myself. regards
  22. Mine's Burgundy Pearl too. Luv it in the summer, but looks a shitty brown when the sun goes in. cheers
  23. Blown, Give Niko a shout, cheers
