  1. another one http://videos.streetfire.net/video/2e6a ... d0584e.htm
  2. fitted ARB's today. Car is much better, steering feel has massively improved. Turn in is very sharp, really noticeable even changing lanes!! Hoped for better body control, which i've got but the steering improvement was unexpected and the bit i'm delighted with. Problem is i've got a new gripe, S3 recaro's are rubbish so unsupportive.
  3. Just watch this thing come on boost, mental!!!! http://videos.streetfire.net/hottestvid ... 9A953D.htm

i'd say dynamatt the doors to death(2-3rolls per door) and 12mm felt the whole floorplan. That will give you a massive improvement without much outlay. Not convinced i gained a great deal by dynamatting the floorplan think the felt was enough on its own. If your fitting a sub, dynamat the roof too. I only used the roof flashing on areas were it wasn't worth buying more dynamat specifically because it wouldn't make a real difference.
  5. not sure if its because i'm used to a C's on coilovers but its sooo frustrating to drive. Its certainly very grippy, not even got close to having a moment yet and you do carry more speed through a corner. However carrying this speed the car is pushing wide or you turn in too tight to compensate and end up having to correct your exit line which makes you look like a novice.
  6. I'd love an Alfa GTA in metallic black with tan leather but would be to scared to spend my own money on one!! Went for a thrash in my S3 last night, really can't believe how shockingly bad the body control is. H&R ARB's tomorrow and hopefully full suspension kit at the end of the month. If that doesn't sort it, its got to go!!!
  7. corrado or scirocco recaro subframes allow a straight bolt in fit of the vast majority of recaro seats. Check the pic in my sig!!
  8. think you can fit mk2 wishbones to narrow the track by 20mm on each side. That would let you run 20mm spacers for brake clearance. If you want decent brakes i'd advise saving for a proper big brake kit. By the time you've bought grooved/drilled discs and pads in the standard size your half way to the cost of some decent brakes. Believe me, once you've got big brakes anything else feels scarily ineffective.
  9. I bought an S3 a month ago as a daily driver. Its not the car i hoped it would be but still can't think of anything better for the money. I really like how its an understated car that only those who know there cars realise its a little bit more exclusive. The TT is the obvious choice but the S3 says your more of a driver than a poser. Has to be black or ming blue. To drive its really, really numb. Its wollowy and harsh at the same time as the car hasn't been set up for UK roads. The 4x4 is also to biased too the front wheels so it drives like fwd but without being able to feel the grip available as you would in a purely fwd. On the positive side is an Audi S car which will always be cool and its the 8th slow depreciating car there is. Then theres the party trick, at 80mph on a motorway in 6th a revo'd S3 will easily pull away from a 911 (964) turbo. Don't believe me? Ask MJ (MJ Interiors), he was dropping down gears to try and react and stay with my burst of speed but was already left trailing. Understated...handy when you pass a police car at 95  Got a set of H&R ARB's waiting to go on the S3, hoping they'll turn it into the car it should be!!
  10. yep, bad prep. At least he's going to put it right.
  11. it a yank car. LHD wipers and side markers give it away. And the 700bhp.
  12. Based on my S3, Audi's really aren't a fun car to drive. You'll miss the corrado's flair and personality. The Audi is very playstation to drive, fast but never feels it till you look at the speedo. The Audi party piece is overtaking!!! Massive midrange punch but nothing at the top and bottom which means i'm still learning how to drive it as you don't thrash them to the redline but change up about 1500rpm before the red. Gearing is too short in 1st , 2nd and 3rd. Its a very good car, just not special.
  13. all cars are the same. I'm fixing my S3 already, little niggles with big price tags.

    After A Respray?

if its been baked in an oven, you can polish it straight away.
  17. think its cos the sidewalls are wrong for an S3. Needs a 245/30/18, pic's don't convey how mighty the car looks with the 265's especially from the rear. Still only a dream, if i had the money for those wheels it would have to be spent on the corrado. BTW Chris, if you want to come along and watch the karting next sunday your more than welcome. Could do with a photographer for some forum pics or General Accident
  18. Couldn't help it. My brother took his 10x18's off his boxster for cleaning so i just had to try one on the S3. They fit with ease even with a 265/35/18 tyre. Bet it could take an 11" with a stretched 245 or 255, Pull the arches and 12x18's are on the cards. Must remember its a daily car....
  19. thought the days of near £10k storms was well gone. http://stone.he.net/~csis01/volkscars/v ... .php?ref=S
  20. had a pretty rotten year myself. Really can't wait to see the back of 2006. Life's hard when the last memories of a loved one are the ones that hurt the most, losing them. Spend more time with the family and remember the laughs. With regard's to the 20V conversion i'd say go drive a 20V for a day if you can. I've got a VR6 corrado and at 20V Audi S3, the 20V ain't all that to be honest. I'm finding it a frustating lump with nothing below 2000rpm and nothing meaning full above 5500rpm. V6's are much, much better. 20V's are one trick ponies.
  21. That told me Opps, did sound a bit harsh on reading back. Sorry Its ok,took it you got out wrong side of bed [/quote:64c6d] i'm putting mine in the G60 intercooler position too.
  22. Thats awesome workmanship. Months and months of work, every little piece is sanded polished and plated. Then theres the careful assembly of parts that are now out of factory tolerance not to mention torquing them up without cracking the chrome. Hiding all the wiring, grinding back welds, filling sanding. Just awesome in my eyes.
  23. looks nice, and i was going to suggest dropping it a couple more inches
