Ignition switch?

What w@nkers! When I dropped mine off at the local stealers I made sure they did the inspection while I was there, otherwise, what's the point :?

Just out of interest, does Admiral do agreed valuations with their multicar policies?

I had a bad one last night. I dreamt that I went outside to find my corrado missing (i.e. stolen), and was searching the roads nearby, just incase it was abandoned closeby.. Then I woke up in a cold sweat, and thought 'thank f00k it was a dream..' :? It's not the first time I've had such a dream, I wonder what it says about me

It *is* on that site, it's LC5L

I've just bought one of > these trickle chargers, and it says in the manual that some cars can't be charged via the cigarette lighter socket - Is the Corrado's lighter socket active when the car is switched off..? :? ..otherwise I'll have to butcher the wire and have it connected direct to the battery Thanks! :D

Wow! Nice job on the paintwork :D -
Nice buy :D I'm sure the wheels and back lights are wong though - 1988/1989 oak green Golf's were 'Campaign Editions' (I have a black 1988 8v Campaign), so it should have come with Le Castellet wheels and half smoked rear lights. Has it got rainbow trim interior and a folder which says 'A Golf in 10 Million'?

Yeah, transponder coil might be the cause (Assuming you car is one of the later ones with the transponder) You can clean the connector for the coil wire - should fix it. Just about the drivers footwell behind the fusebox IIRC

Clicky Number 22 in the pic, flap intake air duct

Excellent, thanks for your help guys :D

I need to tint spray a set of rear clusters black (not on the corrado.. :) ) and need to know what colour bulbs to use, so that they all still look correct. I've used the search, and it looks like all the topics are about tinting clusters red, which is no help really Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks :D

Yeah, don't do it mate, just get an old run around as a daily driver - If you keep the Corrado for the weekend, you'll appreciate it so much more You can get some real cheap, reliable cars - I bought a 1989 Honda P00lude (Prelude..) with 150bhp, 4-wheel steering off ebay. Had a couple of minor problems, but in total I've paid less than £500 for it and I park it wherever, not worrying about dings and that :D Your Storm is a beauty and ones like that dont come around often. Like others have said, there are tons of Golfs around. I'm sure most Golf owners secretly want a Corrado..

I did post a link a while back about a VAG COM group buy over on VR6OC, but no one seemed interested.. :?

Hmm, sounds familiar I think you can clean the connections on the end of the coil wire, where it plugs into the box (under the dash) Apparently that helps I didnt know that at the time, and went and got my keys re-coded, as I thought there was a problem with the transponder in the keys. That didn't fix the problem. I then bought a whole new transponder receiver coil, and that did fix the problem. But it was probably just a dirty connector all along..

Yeah, very nice VR6 8) Love those wheels, I wish I'd bought a set that I saw some months back..
-
Well I guess there'll have plenty of SN08 plates around next year :D
-
'SN07' plate is too offensive, apparently.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edi ... 897494.stm

Finally got my hands on a multimeter and tested the car: At idle, battery reads ~14.24 volts. When revved, it drops slightly, to ~14.10 volts. So I guess the alternator is not overcharging, after all...? ..which makes the leak even more confusing. I've got a Bosch silver that I'm gonna try out. Maybe the Hellfrauds battery is bad
-
Don't you need a beefier alternator to keep the larger battey topped up...? :?
-
Oh feck... well thanks for letting me know what the problem is. So do I need a new alternator, or can I just take it to get rebuilt at a specialist? Also, how do I neutralise the acid? Wash it off with lots of clean water? Thanks guys
-
I went to start the car up yesterday, and while it was running I popped open the engine bay. I then noticed that battery acid was leaking from all 6 filler caps on my Hellfrauds Calcium battery.. As I let the car run, more and more trickled out the tops. So I switched the car off, and tightened up the caps REALLY tight with a coin. Seemed to be ok, 'til today, after a drive when I saw it's still doing it. What's causing it?! I think I should take it back to be replaced, although this one is already a free replacement for my previous Hellfrauds battery.......... I'm kinda worried, as it seems the acid has trickled down the sides, onto some wires

I completely agree with you! ..my full bra turned up on Monday, I'm still to embarrassed to put it on the car
