Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE

You should be able to get a really tiny allen key on the back of the pin, and then tap it out using something like a set of pliers :) (A hammer is a bit too cumbersome) -
There's some special stuff for this made by loctite, Halfrauds sell it. It's got some mesh and a tube of adhesive. Good idea to get 2 of them incase the mirror happens to come off again (happened to me while adjusting it!)

Anyone have a picture of how radiator/AC sits together

Yeah, all the passenger shelves I've seen look like a complete bodge. I did mine myself, chopping away the excess plastic from a non-butchered shelf with a jigsaw until it all fit perfectly. Then used some of the excess plastic (with the flocked texture) to create a new piece for the back of the shelf, which I plastic welded into place with a soldering iron. I don't like to boast, but it looks pretty good  Takes a few hours to do, which is why they were probably all rushed/bodged in the mid 90's... -
Yep, very true, and you can feel the loss in power when you turn it on! But I remember being stuck on the M25 a few years back, 30 degrees outside, black leather in the car.. was horrible! So glad I got aircon fitted, even though you don't really need it that much in this country :)
-
Coping just fine - Oh wait I have aircon!

Sure, no problem, just let me know when you need payment. Just thinking, is your seal falling apart at the same place as mine - where the two ends join..? Might be an idea to use the new seal for just along the bottom of the door frame, and keep the original seal for the for the rest of the door frame. That way the new rubber wont overhang as much :D Either way, I'll still take 10mtrs just incase I replace the whole thing.

It's an absolute joke. I've got a VR6 and a G60, and the G60 was up for renewal in January. I had 5yrs NCB on it and was quoted £350ish TPFT. I thought I'd be clever and move my other 13yrs NCB from the VR6 over to the G60, (seeing as I've now got that on a classic policy..) and the broker - Chris Snot - still wouldnt budge a penny!! 'Sorry sir, we've given you the maximum discounts..' wtf..? :cuckoo: VR6 is ok though, on a classic agreed value policy for £275! :D

I had the same problem -along with many others, it seems! I ended up using a really small allen key (0.5mm I think) and knocked out the pin with that and a hammer. Any small, sturdy piece of metal should do :) -
I recently had the pleasure of finding out that a recon VR6 rack was about £560, and that's with a 10% discount.... A brand new one is something like £900 :bonk:

I've just had aircon fitted, and both fans come on straight away whether you press norm or max. I assume that's normal..? :?

In the last 2 weeks I've kept getting 0800 numbers calling me on my mobile and home phone. I dont bother answering and the calls keep coming. I'm talking *several* times a day! It's infuriating... Anyway, had enough, so dug out an old Arnie sound board and decided to prank the b*stards.. Listen here: http://www.random-task.net/pranks/admiral.html

Do they not teach the green cross code any more...?
joebloggsVR69 replied to joebloggsVR69's topic in General Car Chat
Oh well ... Lot of what's written here just makes me laugh. Don't seem to teach how to drive with respect any more in this country, when I think back to how driving was taught back in the olden days in Germany (motorway driving was part of the driving lessons!!) :D Ah well, let's do it the Italian way then, drive and honk and shout at anything in the way, seems to work down in Spaghetti-Land  Tempest I *do* drive with respect, but roads are for cars, pavements are for pedestrians. If they are crossing the road, they should get to the other side and not dilly dally around! :D Lets see what Darth Vader has to say on the matter:  -
2.0 16v - 30-70 through gears, 9.8 secs (Autocar) 1.8 G60 - 30-70 through gears, 7.4 secs (What Car) 2.9 VR6 - 30-70 through gears, 5.7 secs (Autocar) I've got a standard G60 and VR6 and I'd go for the VR6 every time. It just feels better, not sure why... maybe the sound of the engine, general performance on the road, not sure what it is. The G60 was rolling roaded at 178bhp (yes, totally standard) and the VR6 201bhp on the same day, so there's only 23bhp difference, but the VR6 just pulls so much better. Just my opinion :)
