  1. Westwood is a plank, but his cars are nice
  2. Yeah the cars there are amazing They look after Tim Westwood's cars too apparently - Several are in the lot outside
  3. I recognise that bodyshop  Good choice! :)
  4. Use the search, Luke  http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46356 http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49705 http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46004
  5. That sucks, your car is a beauty...
  6. Hmmm.... I managed to change my ignition switch without bending the screwdriver Bloody difficult to remove that screw, but it's not actually screwed in that tightly (well it wasnt on mine!)
  7. They're owned by the same people, but quote independently - however you cant play Flux off against HIC for a cheaper quote, as they wont play ball  My insurance with Flux was about £400 less than the quote from HIC....
  8. I think there's 4 types (I did some reading up that night ) There's the one you mention, plus one that does 0-60 in about 6.5 secs, and 2 other types that are in the 5 second range, which I know would have annihilated me
  9. I had similar thing the other week, but up against one of those Prosche Cayennes (the Gargoyle looking 4x4) We were side by side, he couldnt lose me  (Same racetrack, of course) Must have been one of the slower Cayenne's, as I think the top end ones have 400bhp and hit sixty in 5.5 secs..?
  10. My bro-in law did the copper pipe fix a couple of months back on his mk2 16v. Shortly after that he got the dreaded explosion/hot water in footwells/steamed windows... I'm gonna replace my mk2's bypass valve in the next couple of weeks, as it's also playing up at the moment (not much hot air coming out etc.) New bypass valve cost me about £25 from VW - I'd rather spend £25 than risk burning my passengers!
  11. Hahaha, yeah that was hilarious  Amazing what Leepu does without any proper tools Although I'd imagine the cars look better on the telly than they do in the flesh
  12. I saw this on Discovery over Xmas, and someone has kindly put the show up on youtube :) The show's about this guy in india who takes old heaps of junk and makes them look like supercars - I'm sure Clarkson did a feature on him once? Anyway, here's the videos, well worth watching. 3 clips, 8mins each Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 I think the show was split into two 30min parts, so these clips are only the first half Enjoy! 8)
  13. ??? :? Ah... I presume you mean one of the avatars on the last link?
  14. Ah perfect! Cheers, thats made it a whole lot easier to get the part number :)
  15. Hmm... I was tinkering under the bonnet of my MK2 Golf yesterday, and I somehow managed to 'lose' a little plastic cover thingy It seems to be part of the vacuum system, because car makes a hell of a racket if I start it up  Managed a temporary bodge by just taping it up with electrical tape.. What is this part actually called, so I can find it in ETKA? Cheers :)
  16. Around £17,000 according to some articles I have Ah.. beaten to it
  17. I dunno what year your car is, but here's the part numbers for a '95 VR6 They are split over 2 screenshots :)
  18. Most (if not all?) 95 cars had transponders in the key - way to check is to prise your key plastic apart and see if it's got this little rectagular block inside, just over 1cm long IIRC
  19. Hmm.. maybe I'll get some Osrams this weekend to play about with I'm using a loom with 2 relays (it's one of those old skool looms made by Gav - H100VW IIRC) I soldered on some proper OEM VW headlight connectors instead of those spades I've wrapped up the exposed bits (fuses, relays) in a small plastic bag and sealed 'em up with electrical tape. Seems pretty water proof
  20. The decent HID kits seem to cost a fair bit This one seems to have caps on the end of the blubs, so should work, but it's £300! The Bosch kit on egay doesnt seem to have caps on the bulbs.. You must be able to just buy the correct blubs seperately :?
  21. My uprated loom hasnt really made much difference.. :? I left one side connected to the std loom and checked it against the newly loomed side, and couldnt see much of a change. This is on standard bulbs mind you, not tried Osrams yet Was thinking of just getting a HID kit. There's some Bosch ones on egay for about £75 at the moment
  22. How come you're buying the rubber strips/mouldings? :? Surely this would also be covered by your insurance...?
