  1. I beleive the only benefit the plastic one has over a metal one is that it reduces some of the engine noise.... most people go for the metal ones over the plastic for looks if they polished them up... but i beleive the studs are different between the 2 so bare this in mind is swapping.
  2. fitted 2 front to back brake lines and passenger side brake line.... took about 30 minutes plus the time it took to bleed the system up. one more off the MOT list!
  3. I remember when I ran a group buy on schrick manifolds with stealth a few years back, if memory serves me right we ordered over 35 of them through VR6OC, still don't see many of them about second hand though and only takes 10 minutes whip the manifold off if you know what your doing. Loved mine on my last VR6, and you can also cheaply source the ECU, tank and solenoid from other VW models and places I learnt from having a chat to Vince @ stealth recently about the 'premium' attached to VSR's. You can make up adaptor plates or re-drill to accommodate the OBD2 throttle body too if you have already converted to OBD2 already so don't let that out you off :-) Good luck with the sale.
  4. Just buy direct. Vr6oc have a 10% discount on them for members.
  5. Punch them in the face!
  6. Jeeez. As if people are considering breaking a car over a head gasket these days :( I paid 1.2k for mine. Head gasket had gone, needed new timing chains, heater matrix so if that's all that's wrong with yours get it fixed man :) I've replaced alot on mine over the last 3 years. Want it as mint as possible, hopefully once it's on the road up keep will be fairly low cost wise!

  17. All sorted now. Looks like someone in the past had not routed the black pipe from the gravity valve properly and was crushed againt the underside of the car. Pipe now has shape and is properly routed, I can now easily blow through the pipe and now getting fumes going into the evap canister. Many thanks for your help. Pete
