  1. I've had a closer look at the o-ring today (in the light)

Slightly misshapen not sure how that has happened...

Size is a 218 O-Ring which my mate had spares, took a little pushing down into the radiator top unlike the other one which just went in a little too easily if you ask me... Not had chance run the car yet so fingers crossed it sorts it...

Just aux water pump to sort next as its leaking coolant everywhere :) don't want to pay £120 though!!

  2. Cheers for the replies.

The VW seal sits slightly looser on the neck than the seal gruven provided... I might have another slightly thicker one and see if that sorts it if not i may drop you a PM Dave. I do have an after market hella radiator so don't know if that has anything to do with it...

  3. Having some issues after fitting my alloy radiator neck! Cannot get it to seal properly despite using bigger washers and also trying another seal from VW... It doesn't seal properly on the side nearest the radiator fins! Coolant just keeps bubbling out when getting upto temperature.

Has anyone had any similar issues with these or could offer any install tips? I dare not tighten it anymore in fear of ruining my new radiator :)

I'm gonna try refitting the original neck again today to see if the fit is any better!

The alternative would be probably try a thicker O-ring perhaps?

    Cheers

    Pete

  4. 120 quid? You have to be kidding me? Lol my aux pump starting p*ssing coolant out today so looking for a new one. I do remember getting a genuine one from GSF in the past but that was a few years at least! Don't really want pay 120 for one though?! :(

  5. VR6Pete - where you get the alloy rad neck?

Pat - how come youre selling mate?

It's a gruven parts one. But I am having some issues! I cant get it to seal properly, even with it as tight as I dare go, to the point the washers are starting to bite into the alloy it's still seeping out the side closest to the radiator fins! Even tried earlier with bigger washers and a new seal I had in the garage but still leaks! Anyone had similar issues or have any tips? I'm going try original neck tomorrow see how I get on!

  6. Went to the car this morning after a little test drive yesterday to find a puddle of coolant on the garage floor! Doh! Looks like my aux pump is leaking and got a leak on my new alloy radiator neck, going to try some bigger washers later to clamp it down better as I can't tighten it anymore... Also ran VCDS through it and found I have a G68 vehicle speed sensor - no signal fault. Not sure if it's the sensor or an issue with my OBD2 conversion :(

  7. When you weigh up that apple now only sell 16GB iPad 2's, and given its still under 12 months old, I don’t consider it to be a bad price, especially when there is now over a 3 week lead time on ordering your "new ipad" They are going for anything between £400 - £500 on ebay depending on age / condition etc.... It's running iOS 5.0.1 so can easily be jailbroken if required, all depending what you are after in a device. I do all my website development for VR6OC on it too, i barely use my macbook pro anymore!

Obviously there is room for negotiations, hence asking for the top end price :)

  8. I have for sale my black iPad 64GB, it is under 12 months old and is in immaculate condition apart from a very faint scratch on the lower corner of the display.

Apple no longer sell the iPad 2 64GB (only 16GB available now).

I wont go into details as of the specification as if you dont know what an iPad is, then :)

Pictures available upon request, cash on collection only from Stoke on Trent.

    Paid £559.

    £500 OVNO...

    Thanks.

  9. You'd need send your car ECU off to stealth racing and they will remove it... Job done.

I had my ECU tweaked as I'm now obd2 and wanted the limiter raised to what the obd1 ECU was set at as the soft limiter on the obd2 golf is lower...

  10. Could be a faulty transponder, coil or chip... I have up after many hours and got the imob deleted from ECU as you can guarantee it will go wrong in the future anyway... Ran all usual checks, everything seemed to be communicating together even though everything was matched and synced! Just one of those things if it's wired up correctly :)
