Is it just me or does that Saleen look like a cross between the F1 (front) and the XJ220 (rear)?

one of the worst exhaust systems I've ever seen....
steve_16v replied to steve_16v's topic in General Car Chat
 just think, somebody somewhere thinks that looks good! All I can see is a paxo trying to crap a church organ -
Mine has the same problem (and others - lurching left/right when there's so much as a piece of gravel on the road!), even after fitting new steering arms, bushes, balljoints, track rod ends, full suspension, top mounts and rear bumpstops. Spoken to a few mechanics since and the general consensus is the steering rack is knackered, apparantly there's a PAS fluid valve in it that's probably sticking and unfortunately it's not replaceable on its own so you have to get a new rack.

The carbon Cup wing mirrors on the Jeroen Dik's corrado
steve_16v replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
that's fair enough but even with an R32 engine it's unlikely there will be more than a couple of mph difference at the top end anyway I'm not arguing, it's your car, you spend the money on it and can do whatever you think's best (looks like it's gonna be awesome when it's finished) good point, I always worry about mine when squeezing through traffic -
The carbon Cup wing mirrors on the Jeroen Dik's corrado
steve_16v replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Bit max power for my liking, can't see them making much difference to the aerodynamics either, besides weren't the corrado wing mirrors used on a mclaren f1 as well, pretty sure there was a pic on here recently of an f1 with wing mirrors that were from a corrado, or at least looked very similar? -
If it's not too late I'll have a sticker please :thumbleft: PM sent.

one of the worst exhaust systems I've ever seen....

Eurgh, reminds me of a gold 306 in exmouth (probably a 1.4) with EIGHT huge tailpipes on the back of it, trouble is you can see the carbon deposits on the far left and right ones so they're obviously real but you can see both ends of the other six he's got integrated into the rear bumper, if I ever see it parked up I'll get some pics of it and you can all see what a travesty it is! Lax Power has a lot to answer for, I live in a quiet coastal town called Budleigh Salterton which is like god's waiting room, yet even here there's a surprising number of chav wagons about (pimped '95 escort estate, moped with neons, etc.) Thankfully I've never seen a Corrado with a ridiculous exhaust. -
Spotted this Prelude round the back of the local tyre fitters, shame really because the inside was beautifully done (seriously) in white leather with two 12" subs and amps in a similar configuration to A20LEE's, 20" rims, with a subtle bodykit (apart from the spoiler)

Ive turned into a old fart since ive had the C ????
steve_16v replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in General Car Chat
I've mostly driven slow in mine ever since I bought it, although that's because there's usually something wrong and I have to take it easy - brakes, then steering arms/ball joints, then suspension ... at the moment it's the steering rack . One day I hope to go for a drive without worrying about ending up in a hedge! -
:( Not another one! Might get myself a cheap banger to run around in till the current spate of corrado accidents is over.

Corrado Spotting! Was it you? [Archive December 05]

Completely standard looking dark blue valver in Clyst St Mary (Devon), 11:40 today, K***UAD, needs a good wash! edit: added pic -
more than likely, I think they like having at least one thing that needs fixing! No sooner had I replaced a dodgy shock with coilovers and replaced the knackered battery last week, both the interior blower fan AND the radiator cooling fan have decided to start squealing! Definately a orradoincidence!

lol, that happened to me when I took mine for a test drive, was giving it the beans, dropped the clutch to change gear then all of sudden the engine was screamin and the revs were bouncin off the limiter :pale: ... so i switched off the engine and pulled into a lay-bye thinking I'd broken it, turned it on again to check ... still buggrd ... turned it off again and started to panic and think of excuses why I'd broken a car within minutes of getting in (was on my own) ... got the phone out to call a mate, just as I found his number I realised the mat was stuck over the accelerator pedal  Anyway, bought the car, binned those mats and bought some from halfrauds for £25 ... mistake! ... these did the same thing after a few months and are also in the bin, next time I'm probably going to get some from justmatz

there's an oscar wilde quote on his CV  and a spelling mistake (insures pizza orders eh?)

You could just take some planks of wood and put them in front of the ramp, thats how the tyre place near me gets cars as low as yours onto their ramp.
-
Like everyone has said above research what similar cars are going for on the autotrader and try and get as much as possible, about 6 months ago I wrote off my Toledo 2.0 16v and the bloke who called offered about £1500 for it, but after some persuasion I got him to agree to £2250. Not bad considering I only paid £1000 for it! :) NEVER EVER accept their first offer.

Yeah I know he sells oil on the forum but he's not advertising it in this particular thread, although I'm sure he'd like everyone who has a heavier oil to buy some from him :fadein: but there's no "and it just so happens we have a special price on 10w40"....
-
Not trying to cause an argument here but why've you moved it to Suppliers? Seems to me that all he's doing is giving some advice about oil, I for one didn't know it was better to have a low W number for winter use.

I don't drive particularly fast day-to-day and it averages about 28mpg, on a long motorway run it does close to 40mpg

Just had some of these fitted on tuesday, it's a good set-up but I was wondering if the damping is going to get any softer after a few weeks use? They're great round the bends but the ride is very bumpy over bad roads and I'm not sure I want to be bounced around on my way to work every day :| (not sure if it makes any difference but they're still on the highest possible setting)

1994 Mitsubishi GPX Mivec vs 1990 Toyota Celica GT
steve_16v replied to Fritz's topic in General Car Chat
yep, I considered one of these before the rado but decided I couldn't live with the look of the rear -
What bix said, plus some other possible causes - anti-roll bar bushes, condition of shocks, tyre pressures

Does the Corrado deserve a place on the coolwall?
steve_16v replied to emoda's topic in General Car Chat
I hope you didn't vote down the mk1 cooper s and the 1275gt, they're very cool cars!
