  1. yep, agreed, that is blatantly the reason! the stig is much taller than schumacher as well!
  2. hello mate, i picked up quite a few of the smaller bits to do the conversion recently but not likely to go through with it now so let me know if you are interested in any of them. cheers john
  3. we were looking at lots of these at the deutsche connection show this afternoon, still a great looking car!
  4. yeah, got shown that today at work too! not quite sure where he's spent £60k though?? that must be more engine rebuilds than you John! (sorry!)
  5. yeah, stick with your plan to fix the body work for now and then if the engine gives up then go for the upgrade, an r32 with rust isn't going to be that much more appealing than a normal storm vr with rust. a super shiny r32 would be amazing when the time came though!
  6. Just put out the call - people will come and help. I'm certainly up for it mate. Tom, as you know I am unemployed 2 weeks today so might as well be doing something constructive :salute:
  7. sounds like you're in the US if you're getting 150 for a single foglight - they're £90 from the dealers in the UK which would match... not sure where would be cheap over there, have you tried other US vw forums for 2nd hand ones?
  8. hi Olly, sorry for the delay, I am away but will PM you now.. thanks John
  9. Boxter S + crash helmet + race harness = problem solved :)
  10. the Corrado aircon was only ever a dealer fit option in this country (so therefore for RHD) and it makes a bit of a mess of the area behind/underneath the glove box (i've never seen how good/bad a factory LHD install looks) due to the size of the box. I think to fit anything from a bigger car you'd be looking to sacrifice more and potentially struggle with the glove box. if anyone has one out of their car then if they could measure that would be best i guess. I might have one out in a few weeks time or ed on here might do sometime soon too.
  11. now come on Kip, they're never 15" wheels?? I was going to say 13s at the most, i mean look how much arch space there is!! ;)
  12. Just a quick one, i've checked all the part numbers and they seem to match up 100% but can anyone confirm for my peace of mind that Mk3 VR Eibach ARBs are the same as Corrado VR Eibachs? Thanks John
  13. yeah, i could do stuff at my mum's place but i dont really want to have to tax or insure it after this month and so it would be better off either at or near somewhere i know could do the tricky stuff or where it could reasonably end it's life if it comes to that...
  14. will check the history i got with it but the guy i bought it off said that it had been checked out beforehand but that no-one could find a significant enough problem to warrant taking it apart. will try those things though and then see where it gets me. if not then i know of a potential home it might find as a rather interesting project in another set of hands :)
  15. Hi all, As some of you know, i bought an auto VR with nice goodies in it recently with the intention of ending up with a shell that i could make into something more interesting. i now need to sell it on or break it compeletely as i am not having my contract renewed at work. The question is what to do with it. the auto box is not working properly between 3rd and 4th (skips 3rd a lot) and doesn't kickdown reliably. I have access to another autobox that I could swap into it but obviously that is engine out time. However, if i'm taking the engine out anyway, i also had acquired quite a few of the bits to convert it to manual based on earlier plans and maybe I should do this for an easier sale for more money? What do people think is the best option? I'm working on the basis that i could maybe get a £1200 or so quickly for it as an auto or maybe £1700 as a manual. Its a 94 Lreg, moonlight blue, bodywork in average nick, 95k engine, and would come with standard dark cloth interior to help your thoughts. Cheers, John
  16. lol! he's married but i'm sure there are many porsche-owning single men he does know..!
  17. Wendy, I work with someone who has a 996 GT2 Clubsport and is a member of the PureGT forum. If you have any questions you'd like me to ask him then do let me know! Cheers John

  19. Here's a couple of answers for you - welcome! Aqua is a very good colour :)
