True mate, sometimes i have to really bite my lip when i see some stuff on here, particularly when it comes to stupidly low cars and stretch tyres and completely incorrect ET wheels but each to their own :)
-
It does around 3k a year mate and i'm being totally honest that if you keep on top of it it's really easy to maintain the standard, winter is a definate no no though, thing is i agree it is a constant chore but at the same time that is what i really really love doing, it's like gardening i guess, you know it needs doing again soon but still enjoy the hard work to make it look good  I feel i have to add though but my vr is probably one of the only concours cars out there that has been round the nurburgring in the last few years, did the full 2008 anniversary trip to germany with 3 peoples luggage/tent and all the other stuff that goes with it. Dont want to rush and do it again though
-
It doesn't end though Kev, its ridiculous really! lol! by my own admission you sometimes question your sanity, but one of the biggest things of all is hearing people at shows being truly complimentive towards the car and indeed it's owner. And for the record if anyone ever opens the celephane on my first aid kit they'll need more than a plaster
-
Me i'd be impressed lol! i guess its a little thing some of us owners have that it helps to complete the bigger picture if you like, like owning magazines and brochures too! yes a little sad but still nice to have.

lol! it was only a matter of time

Superb read as ever and totally agree the standard springs are marvellous coupled with bilstein B4 dampers they are quite sureal :)
-
Its all about period accessories though :)
-
Oooops! must be a typo :)
-
Yep a superb read without being a little biased :) it really does sum up what being in the club is about! Well done to all those who helped create this issue. Hope you're feeling better soon Wendy.

No providing whoever does the valuation for you has a bit of an idea on how much is involved with costs to do such a project etc. Thing to remember though is that no car is ever valued on what is actually spent, but more a case of what would need to be spent should the car need to be replaced. If that makes sense! :) In essence i would look at costs to do a conversion like that and add that to the cost of a tidy well looked after example which may be currently for sale.

No but i watched and it looked reasonably straight forward, i wouln't flinch on having a go myself now. ---------- Post added at 1:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:34 PM ---------- It really doesn't take much to keep clean though once you get it to this standard, just means having a little clean up with some AG Engine bay cleaner and a carefull hose every few months :)
-
Chris, all the alloy bits were sand/media blasted in 2009 by DG Autotech when the clutch & chains were done (daft not to while it was all out) but the rest is by myself :)
-
Thank you Sir! i do like my engine bay, A lot :)
-
Lol! exactly, come on buddy you know it makes sense!
-
Welcome along, get some pics up when you get it :)
-
As nature intended :) I know this is what you have already but how about going a bit tidier still?
-
Agree mate, i'm secretly dreading renewal time due to the Nugget incident, insuring 3 cars too. although the premiums ae reasonably low I'd like to tink thats my reward for being a good driver. :)
-
Bill out of curiosity how much did they go up?
-
lol! indeed. No offence taken mr Simmonds, i guess there will always be a continued discussion about which is best model for this and which is best model for that and then which is best overall :) Seen it on here for years even to the point that some folk get so wound up and start verbally abusing each other the thread has had to be locked lol! I think this is a very interesting thread though and while i really disagree with some comments i know my own will also not be other peoples ideals.

Always gotta be silver for me. dont get all this matt black thing, the wheels are a focal point of any car so why disguise them. yes they need cleaning more to look good but i like that too, nothing finer than a nice shiney wheel :) Plus i'd be gutted if you painted those BBS lol!

Hate the lack of cupholder in the Rado? I had an idea..
KIPVW replied to bristolbaron's topic in Interior
I guess it is a little bit far back but yes better than nothing, I remove the ashtray and the cup flaps around a bit so i'll definately be doing this when i get driving again :) -
Not going to respond in a manner that causes hassle but we all have to agree which we all personally feel is our choice and not anyone elses, for me it's 8v for the charachter of driving a corrado and with the amount of traffic on our roads and state of some of them big power is becoming more and more resticted. After 17 years of ownership of various models I think experience has helped me make my decissions. However i cant wait to get my vr out :)
