  1. Walesy has pretty much said what i was going to say too, you really need to own an 8v to fully appreciate it. using the but its not as fast as this or that is bull sh1te really, you know it isn't a fast car and thats the point, it doesn't need to be but then ask any of the other forum/ccgb members if my 8v was struggling to keep up on the whole of the scotish trip we did in 2009 the answer would be a definate NO. If you want to race shopping cars down the dual carriage way then the 8v aint the one, but if you want to keep up with a highly tweaked vr6 over the some scotish mountains and return nearly half as much again to the gallon as the vr6's were doing then i'd definately buy one. Owner of a VR6 a 1.8 16v & 2.0 8v :)
  2. NO! lol! thats's just my gut reaction but i would hate club funds to be tied up in massive stocks of something we are struggling to sell, i have no doubt theses 100 would be gone in no time but dont want to risk it just in case. i guess if there were 20 left over or something it could be a possibility, pending committee decission of course :)
  3. i'd easily buy 5 corrado badges if they were an exact replica and i'm sure others would buy multiple ones too.

    roof trims

yep clip firmly into front peg fit rear section onto serated post so its attached at both ends, then work it on evenly from each side! i always find it easier when the weathers warmer too and the car body is warm as well as the trims themselves. done several sets on of and on off again in the last few years so very pleased with this method :)

    roof trims

The trims dont bend at all and will easily be reusable, the only downside is that the champher on the inside of the trim that touches the roof itself is quite thin so tends to crack and fall off. They look a bit naff when this happens so good to renew if funds allow. Or just trim off this bit thats crcked makes it look much better. remove from rear then pull upwards along the whole length of it until near the front then it pulls bac towards the rear of the car to un-clip it from the front peg :)
  6. Fay do you mean the metal strip that holds the chin spoiler and bumper togethet which then also bolts that to the lower valance/radiator support? if so they were about £30 new from the dealers last year as i bought one for mw nugget, youl neen all the bolts too. part number is, Reinforcement plate, 535 807 181 & you need 5 Fitted bolts, Self locking part number, N904 338 01
  7. yeah bumper has to be off anyway!
  8. lol! like the driven normally statement Kev, very true.
  9. wow Karl, that was some incident! bet you looked interesting with all those stitches in place!
  10. brilliant! :) the slam panel is an easy job providing all the headlight screws come out, i think it takes about half an hour to remove one if that.. bit longer to put one in though with all the cleaning i know you'll want to do as you go lol!
  11. indeed, a very interesting read, thanks a lot! i think it's safe to say you have a problem though lol! keep it coming. :) as jim says, there's no way they'd stick a little extra tarmac down like that here, the workers would give you all kinds of public liability get out stories.
  12. yeah gotta agree with the above statement whivh i thought was very well put. At the end of the day no one should buy a corrado because of it's economy as once you have actually driven it for a while you will rather prefer the experience of it rather than how little it drinks. MY 8v is quite economical but because i like to drive it to enjoy it it will not normally see the figures quoted here, although it will do it if i drive like my dad lol! and i know a good motorway run will give me 40 plus so i'm happy with that. running/service/repair costs are where to look here and i think on that one the 8v wins hands down. :)
  13. i think you all have too much time on your hands lol!
  14. Had the district nurse round this morning to replace the dressing so thougt be rude to not get a picture :)
  15. She's doing a fine job, just as well she doesnt hav a job at the moment lol! not that that's good though.
  16. yep defintely the one to re-produce ;)
  17. love the update fay, always nice to read about this kind of progress :) good work kiddo x
  18. I'll bear that in mind Andrew lol! Wendy you too :) you wish lol! Well back from the hospital after my overnight stay, operation went well yesterday and I now have a plate & 7 pins in my shoulder :/ 6 weeks off work though now so really really not looking forward to that, guess i'll be on here more then lol! ---------- Post added at 1:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:47 PM ----------

    8v Lovin'

If you need anything official from the CCGB regarding valuation you know where to come walesy. ;)
  21. Not a chance Karl, it was a no goer for anyone at that speed :/ ---------- Post added at 6:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:54 PM ---------- Well after a bad nights sleep thinking this is hurting a lot for a collar bone :/ i went to get a second opinion from the hospital my surgeon friend works at so met him in A & E reception where he booked me in and fast tracked me through a capacity crowd in the waiting area lol! should have seen the faces :) another set of xrays confirmed a broken collar bone as well as a broken rib, he then suggested he get his bone fracture friend to double check the xrays and call back this afternoon with a time for on operation to pin it later this week. so 3 pm the phone rings and my friend says can you come back for a scan as it looks like your shoulder is broke too which the bone surgeon was concerned about. So went back to the hospital to hae the xrays confirmed with an added broken shoulder and then suggets i had a CT scan as i'm struggling to breath deeply so could be some soft tissue/lung damage too. Operation tomorrow to pin the collar bone and possibly the broken shoulder too which will help the rib to sit in the right place again. So they said to not let anyone pull my arm as it's basically only attached with flesh & muscle and could quite easily pull off lol! I dont do things by halves it seems :)
  22. thanks all, nice to hear a few others have broken them too. hoping to see someone today and reall hope they decide to pin it as i dont want it to heal miss aligned and cause hassle later in life as i know quite a few cycling chums have had them heal naturally and have had some issues years down the line. cant believe how stiff i am this morning (no jokes please it hurts when i laugh) that part of it actually hurts more than the break in the bone, guess hitting the road at around 30 mph didn't help there :/
  23. not self employed and i'd be on the statutory standard sick pay but thats the way it goes. not too woried yet. supposed to be going to majorca on the 13th so hope i can cancel that as theres no ay i want to go watching all my mates set off for a ride every morning :( a friend who's a surgeon also going on the trip is pulling out all the stops so i get seen to by one the top shoulder sports injury specialists in the uk so that one perk of being in the cycle trade. yes wendy thank you i really apprecite your usual banter it helps lots x :) ---------- Post added at 6:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:13 PM ---------- thanks jim, indeed it does bring it home, i haven't had anything near this for very long time, it will not put me off at all and i'll hopefully be shooting down the pyrenees mountains when the payout come's. hope so anyway :)
  24. i'll tell you what though, in a flash of a few seconds flying through the air, hitting the tarmac and seeing the bike actually somersault like a cart wheel several times along side me narrowly missing me as it went then lying curled up in a ball gasping for breath really really made me feel not so tough anymore, i dont mean tough as in a fighting type person but general pain threshold etc. I like to think i am pretty hard like that but it scared me a lot. just the lying there hopless and turned into a broken man was pretty shocking for me. :(
