The pic looks like the fuse control box in the engine bay (next to the coolant reservoir) for the fans. -
Yeah Wendy, its on at 2am May stay up and watch it. Shame to hear Lewis has a 5 place drop :( Stil it should be a good race. Looking forward to it.

RAC for me, always been with them. Excellent service and have ALWAYS got to me quicker then quoted over the phone.

Could be the cable. But could be the flap itself. If its the foot flap. Then try operating the flaps by hand on the heater box.

Window Rollers Group Buy: A few sets left
Critical_Mass replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Forum Group-Buys
Thanks for the rollers Alex! Anyone fitted these yet? -
Rear bearing easy to do. Hardest part is usually getting the carrier brake nuts off - use irwin bolt grippers if necessary. Also getting the race pressed into the brake discs correctly AND careful when taking the ABS rotor off - unless youre replacing them. Personally i'd replace both at the same time, but thats up to you. Along with new discs, depending on old they are.

What tool should I use - a chainsaw or a blowtorch?

according to ETKA, the lengths are different for the LHD ones. The ones i gave you are for the RHD as per ETKA -
I could be talking sh*t. I may have got my wires crossed somewhere [/quote:34djh677] I did just google it and didnt find anything really. You're responsible for getting the gf all exicted about a 3D version now Jim

Went to see Back to the Future at the cinema (the gf is a huge fan). Although we've seen it a 1000 times on DVD. Somehow the cinema made it a even better film! Loved it!!! 10/10 :D

What's the worst kind of bad driving?!
Critical_Mass replied to V-Dubstar's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah I know the sort. They do something stupid and when you glance over at them, they're sat 3" from the steering wheel, eyes resolutely fixed to the end of their bonnets with a vacant expression. These people don't read the road ahead either. I really don't know what it is with British drivers. It feels like we on the forum are the last of an intelligent & assertive breed of drivers, having to thread our way through a road network full of Zombies  In the space of a week and on same stretch of A12, I have seen:- - A silver BMW drive into the base of a bridge - Girl killed - A passat drive into the back of a parked lorry - 10 month old baby boy killed - A red Alfa underneath a Van in a petrol station - Casualties unknown. I mean, what the f'ck is wrong with people? I'm sorry but there is no excuse for driving into stationary objects other than sudden heart failure, or mechanical failure. 3 fatal accidents in the same bit of road is unprecedented where I live and just smacks of the dumb zombies previously mentioned. I'll put money on these people either f'cking about with their phones or falling asleep at the wheel. Sure, we all have momentary lapses in concentration but to veer off the A12 at 80mph straight into the back of a van filling up in a petrol station, and driving into the back of parked lorries? :cuckoo: And guess who has to pay for the carnage they cause, not to mention the pain caused to the families of the bereaved. This just isn't acceptable any more. It's got to change. Watching Road wars, traffic cops, police camera action or whatever which one it is. Ive lost count of the number of times they show a clip from the USA where a cop has pulled a car and is talking to them and a passing car slams into the car thats pulled or the patrol car. Im shocked at how many times this seems to happen. Sorry i know its over the pond and not here, but thought it was relevant in a way to what you were saying Kev. -
PM sent back :D

What's the worst kind of bad driving?!
Critical_Mass replied to V-Dubstar's topic in General Car Chat
  The other day i was going down a dual carriage way and it was clear ahead of me and i was plodding along doing about 60-65 (it was safe to do so). A suzuki swift pulled onto the carriageway a good distance ahead of me and continue at about 40 in the left lane. It suddenly pulled into the right lane as i approached without signalling and continued on at 40, despite there being NO reason to pull over to the right lane. I first thought it was some spiteful move to halt my progress, but when i under took (i know i know, but hey i wasnt the one doing the dangerous maneuver) the stupid bint was just yapping away to her mate oblivious of the whole thing!!!! :censored: :bad-words: -

Right Monkey, i've got those part numbers for you. Not sure exactly which cable you want as there are 2. But... If its the one that goes behind down towards the drivers footwell and under the dash, the part number is - 192 819 831 and is 668mm long The other goes between the centre console and the drivers instrument clusters and is 192 819 835 and is 448mm long. Both are black in colour -
Dave, any news mate?

Annoys the hell out of me too bud. I have the habit of making a point of ME thanking THEM, most seem to then realise and say thank you, knowing im being saracastic by thanking them. Idiots. Agree with all the usual things on this thread. I love a good moan! -

I'll see if i can get the part numbers for you. No they arent all the same the one for the heat adjuster, the sleeve is blue in colour. The 2 for the flaps are different lengths and have black sleeves -
Sent. Cheers.

Ahhh not a bad idea actually, i'll will look into this. But then it it doesnt cost too much to get a metal frame made up, i may still do that. Cheers Andrew

What ever you do, DO NOT force it, i did this once and broke the cog. The issue isnt the controls themselves but the cables. I changed this and it now works ok. Still available from the dealers as far as im aware. Dont take it to VW, save yourself the cash and do it yourself. But I will warn you, you'll have to lay down in the footwell to unhook the cable from behind the bottom of the dash and i found it a little tricky and certainly FRUSTRATING!!! :( Its not hard though.
