  1. Sheeeesh.. Glad you got it sorted mate. That wont do Jabbasports reputation any good.
  2. Cheers fella. I've not driven through Birmingham recently.... The wheel are off the car now and have been replaced with something else, they're sat in the garage if you're interested in buying - they could do with a refurb though, but they're cheap :norty:. Tyres have plenty of tread left on them too.
  3. Definately worth a try. Ive been listening out for the noise and havent heard it for a few days. But will try to tighten the handbrake.
  4. FUnny you should mention that cos i have to pull it up quite high, ever since the rear brakes froze on last winter. i'll try tightening it a little. Why did you mention that anyway Neil?
  5. Doubtful as the brakes would be soft if it had air in the system. Could be interested if anyone else has any suggestions.
  6. I dont think its a piece of trim either. Its definately metallic and outside the car. The hunt continues....
  7. Give them a change and report back mate :D But im not convinced. There's plenty of meat on my pads, but it could be a different clunk you have.. just very coincidental that we're having the very same noise. Plus if it is down to low pads what is actually making the noise.
  8. ... and i said that as a Mclaren fan also. Lets face it RB should have won more races then they have. But Lewis being at the top of the tables is a testiment to his skill. Though i do expect Mclaren to up their game when they've finally got their upgrades sorted. :D
  9. To be honest id rather Webber take the WDC over Vettel. Vettel is a good driver but some the front wing fiasco plus the Turkey crash is making a mockery of Red Bull. Horner - cant stand the guy to be honest. I laughed when i heard that Red Bull had given Adrian Newy a RB6 as a gift for designing such a great car. Dont get me wrong, it is a great car. But isnt all this a little premature? Shouldnt they wait to see IF they win the WDC or at least the Contructors Championship
  10. Does the door lock using the key. If it does id suspect the alarm.
  11. Well i went to get some of the Harris tape this morning and got it wrapped round the offending pipe (no puns Tom) and will see how i get on with it. I've put a couple of litres of coolant/water mix in the boot just in case - Fingers crossed it works :D EDIT - by the way do i have to get the engine up to temp once the tape is applied to get it to seal or anything?
  12. I think i can rule out interior plastics as its definately coming from outside. If it only happens when its braking surely its got to be somethin to do with the wheels or something linked to the wheels. Its an odd one. hmmm......
  13. Well in that case i will definately let you know if the tape works! :D Also just to give you some confidence (maybe), since i've owned the Corrado i've learnt so much more then i knew before - which was a bit, but not much.
  14. Yeah makes complete sense as its exactly the same issue i have. I had someone stand outside the car whilst i went back and forth until it did it. Like you said it only does it going forward, never reverse. I was told it was coming from the back. my rear discs and pads are relatively new with plenty of meat on the pads. I gave a brief description to my mechanic who said it could be the rear axle moving slightly due to worn bushes...
  15. Typical  it was halfords i went to as it was only down the road from where the car was stranded. If i'd know they did that tape i wouldnt have bought the pipe paste.
  16. I have this exact same thing mate. Only seems to happen when almost at a stop, seems to happen when only apply small amount of pressure on brakes ie not hard braking. Its only ONE clunk sound very metalic. Also i have a knocking coming from under the pedals - im suspecting the ARB drop links need replacing. But not confident it will go once replaced seen as it hasnt on yours. Ive had the top mounts replaced too and its still doing it after too.
  17. Well been out in it again and the temps are again fine and the engine feels solid in the engine bay - no real movement. Though im struggling to seal the hole at the moment. It seems fine until i stop the car and (now) the pipe is dribbling. Ive put some pipe sealer paste over the whole and once thats gone off ive wrapped it in insulation tape.. which is working to an extent. Cant afford another pipe until week after next.. .so does anyone have any better ideas as to how to plug the small hole for now (im talking a tiny hole..... like the size of a dot from a ball point pen.) OR does anyone have a pipe they would be willing to give me and i can sort them the cash out next week :norty: :D
  18. Dont know yet! had a lazy Saturday morning and have just watch the Qualifying.... but i will be going out in v soon and will give the engine a rock :D
  19. No dont think so. How can you tell if its knackered? The hole in the pipe is small, really small. The seam of the pipe is where the hole is. All the pipes are hot... even the ones going into the bulkhead - the heater does work (I had this on full heat and fan 4 whilst the car got up to temp)
  20. No its the one that goes into the bulkhead behind the engine - right next to the ISV damper. It has a T junction on it where a thinner pipe goes to the throttle body. Its only a small hole and ive sealed it best i could until i can replace it... its no longer leaking.
  21. Right, got some coolant tonight and drained the system completely. It wasnt a hard job, though one thing that i wonder about is - i filled the system and let the car get up to temperature with the expansion tank cap off and squeezed the coolant pipes to get the air out. But the water in the tank would raise and boil over. But if i stopped the car or put the cap on the level would drop and had to be topped up. It would do it again though... not sure why that was happening. The heater works and the car gets to the right temp, took it for a drive and the car was fine. But when i got home the level had dropped a little and needed another half pint of water in there.
  22. Well what can i say, the corrado hates me at the mo, with a knocking a squeaky exhaust. I have just bought new bracket to sort this out. But today i went to pick the gf up and pulled up outside her work and steam poured from the bonnet, i lifted the bonnet to find one of the coolant holes had split. So had to limp as far as i could. Luckily there was a Halfords close by so i bought some 'pipe repair paste and some coolant... the only coolant they had which was blue :bad-words: So had to go with that for now. Managed to botch it and get home but now i have to flush the system and fill back with pink coolant. :( Oh and get a new pipe when i can.
