Sorry thats what i meant the top and middle are filled but bottom is open. I dunno why VW did that, why not making them all open - as you say Jon better cooling!
-
tbh i'd use a new one as the scrappers one could also be fault - just by chance
-
Instrument cluster? Or can the original be used?
-
No, my original 3 slat grill (from a 93 VR) had the slats that had no gap. Dont think its specific to the storms... only the colour.

Cheers, lots to do yet, its hard to know where to stop :D ah roll with it, mate roll with it.... whilst you have the enthusiasm and motivation! :D

HAHA!!!! Anyway even if we DID have this discussion, you never get a definitive answer anyway. Best thing to do is just drive both and see which you prefer!

People who like to think their cars are great but aren't.

And they're stunning looks :cuckoo: Yeah its like grandpa is trying to be hip driving one of them. Its still a Rover 200 regardless how fast it is. Same with those MG zr things. My sister had one and it was made like a tin can had and the ugliest interior ive ever seen in a car. -
I think its highly unlikely the gauge is wrong. Vagcom reads the ecu sender (blue), i'd possibly try another yellow (or black as the new ones are) before you start looking at changing the clocks.

The 2x2 connector is simply an adaptor from the 16 pin connector to the cars connector. You'll still need the 16 pin cable - see ebay, i got both together on there. http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/ - i think it was the twin com one you want version 409 or 311.

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...

Removed the wiper mechanism due to the operating rod goign from the wiper motor to the first wiper popping off. Left with no wipers whilst its raining is PITA. -

The definitive "what exhaust?" discussion thread!
Critical_Mass replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
Firstly VRs adjust their own timing im sure someone will explain in detail as to how. I would have though if the exhaust was blowing this would have been picked up on the previous MOT though could contribute to the emissions reading. Unless the previous owner knew the MOT tester [wink wink]. If it was blowing before the lambda (i assume your decat has a hole for the lambda) then it would cause the engine to run rich, possibly rich enough to make it fail emissions. Take a look on the parts section for a cat. Though i went down the sports cat route which allows a little more flow (but maybe not as muc has a decat), though it will allow it to pass the MOT emissions test. What exactly was wrong with the headlight to cause it to fail? -

It's only really one wheel that needs a refurb at the moment, the rest are in good shape. so I only bought enough to try it ot on one wheel. The cars a daily so if it works out I might try and pick up a spare 17 so I can do each wheel properly one at a time or something. Fair do's. Get some pics up when youre done :D

Why not just do all 4 in anthracite to begin with  I'd rather do them all once, then have to do all 4 twice. It will looks good as long as you take your time and let each coat dry.

hmmm may give this a try! Sounds delicious!
