ah they clipped on to the top of the bellows. Im no expert either mate, best to check just in case. I was just going by my suspension and the ETKA diagrams.
-
No more of this then  - 4m 10s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyWILsEehL8 sorry couldnt find a non VHS clip
-
Well i think it may. Ive just taken my front shockers off and the bump stop was under the bellows. The bellows covers the bumps stop. Which diagram are you referring to? Here's the ETKA diagram.
-
Dont the fuzz have all the buttons and lights in front of them and the radio going, even them using the radio (on the shoulder) whilst driving?
-
3corsameal - the bump stop needs to be under the bellows not above it.

Why? If you can't eat an apple and drive then why should smoking be acceptable? I remember a conversation down the pub and the smokers were all recalling 'close calls' when they had been smoking and driving, fags ends setting light to themselves and the back seats etc.. And let's face it, most people could do with concentrating on driving the car these days rather than tabbing, playing with the sat nav, telling the kids off etc etc. I dont agree with not being able to eat an apple and drive. I do it on the way to work and never have come close to having an accident. I never had a fallen cig end incident either (though im not saying it hasnt ever happened to other motorists). When i said its going to get out of hand i meant where will it stop. As already said above, will you be able to have a scratch while driving  Will radios have to be off or volume set to low, passengers to sit in silence etc.
-
I can understand the fag in one hand lighter in the other scenario, not that anyone needs to do that. But this is going to get out of hand. I wouldnt be suprised ,though still appauled, if smoking does get banned while driving - Rediulous as it sounds.

Highly modified wheelie bin - THE BINSLEIGH
Critical_Mass replied to jonny-5's topic in Members Gallery
 that is fantastic. What you beaten? -
cheers lads. Tried a long bar still no luck. Going to try a bit of heat on the nut, see if that will shift it. EDIT - blow lamp didnt work no matter how much i heated it, hit it with a hammer or used the spanners on it. Looks like its gonna be a saw nut off and order 4 new bolts and nuts. Any idea how much all 4 nuts and bolts will be?
-
Decided to try and fit the front shockers ive bought, after doing the rear last week. Eventually i got the top- mount nuts off. Then went to take the 2 bolts off that hold the shocker onto the hub. B*gger me, both nuts on both sides are tight as h3ll, i just cant budge them.. I've now left them soaked with WD40 to see if that helps. Anyone else had problems getting these bolts undone. Anyone got any advice? Cheers Gaz

It Boils My Piss! Effing Thieving Scrotey Shitbags!
Critical_Mass replied to rado-steve's topic in General Car Chat
ditto. Dont think you did anything wrong there mate. -
Was thinking the same - a nice medium. Though i want mine to last waaaay over 100k, no plans to sell up. Except i'll do an oil change more regularly, after all you cant over do the oil changes but you can do too few of them.
-
Again thanks, ill give it a read :D
-
Cheers Junkie, So basically its a case of not holding the high revs. Though its ok to blip the high revs, just dont hold it there. Do the oil change intervals still apply, every 1k for first 2 k?

So guys, we have multiple run-in procedures here, which one is right? I ask because ill be getting a new VR lump next month. Personally though imo, the forementioned 'longer' procedure sounds better. I dont like the thought of ragging my new engine within the first 100 miles. Isnt it a case also of getting the pistons to sit properly in the cylinders?

If youre on about one of those resistor jobbies claiming to be 20bhp+ mod, then forget it. I got one just to see what it was about and i didnt notice any difference when id fitted it (not on the corrado). Let me guess it cost about a fiver too!? Its a scam. EDIT - need to read more carefully

You can buy the sub kits from halfords.

Yes indeed GOOD GOD. I like the fact that the girl in the pink in one of the pics looks like shes taking a step back and laughing her a*se off. Thats one snow plough on the front of that nova.. init.

Rear shockers fitted today, BUT i now have an ISSUE - before fitting i decided to adjust the rear shockers so they were on the lowest setting, which i assumed was the 40mm drop (max). I let the car down off the axle stands and now the bottom spring discs on both sides are seriously rubbing the tyres. So tomorrow ive got to take them apart and re-adjust the rear shockers. BUMMER! You learn from your mistakes though... so they say.

Have I missed some New Rules on Motorway Driving?
Critical_Mass replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
To be honest, i dont think there's any excuse for tailgating, its just damn dangerous. -
Well going to get as much fitted today as possible, starting with the back shockers. Ill get some before and after pics for those who are interested. I realised that my rear shockers (at least) are knackered, the new ones - when the shocker is pushed down, it comes back out as it should, BUT the old ones didnt do this, once pushed in the shocker bar had to be pulled back out by hand. So i should get ALOT better handling with these new ones. Ill keep you posted
