450 is more like it. I'll see about getting it remapped.... ill get down to stealth. Anything additional needed to get the full appreciation of the remap?

 id like id like, but i have a standard VR at the mo, so want to start off with the "small" mods. Then again im tempted to leave it standard as theyre getting hard to find as standard.... so ive heard. But then again the extra power would be nice. Its a bit of a dog low down in the rev range.

:GULP: Is that remove the carbon canistor and plug up the pipes with bungs (SPELL)? How much we talking about the big bore throttle body, any recommended vendors?

My budget doesnt stretch that far at the moment. What about remapping? do i need to get anything else done alongside this, if so what and how much would a remap be? Sorry if this is a lame Q, im new to the world of VRs. EDIT: Well im just reading through the G-werks offer thread, and the manifold gets a thumbs up for the extra torque you get from this mod... which is what i want. Best get saving

Hi Guys, Im just curious, what kind of mods can be done to a VR, preferably ones that are a better money:gain ratio? Im looking to gain a bit more power from the engine, especially lower down the rev range. I did have a search but couldnt find anything specific to what i was looking for. If anyone wants to point me in the direction of an existing thread feel free. Cheers! :D

heh i cant see you missing that 3 times either mate. Some people have no respect. It could have happened in those 25 mins. I moved my girlfriends dads T4 for him one night, then went outside to car to go home and we're only talking 10 mins later. His passenger window had been smashed. Good luck with getting it sorted!

Sorry Dr Forinor, dont know anything about the Garmin Nuvi 310.

Ive recently bought the Navman iCN330, on offer from comet £100. I find it works well.......... so far. I think it was a bit of a bargain. My mate has the iCN 310 and he says the signal is hard for it to establish itself. Like i say ive had no probs with the Navman iCN330 after a few uses over the course of a week and thought i got a good one for the money i spent. I would have liked the 530 but i wasnt willing to spend the cash on it. Well not at this present time.

Ill take one. PM sent :D -
No blue smoke at all. The head gasket was replaced 20k ago by VAG... apparently. Going to get a compression test done on it, see if the cylinders are ok... otherwise ill be looking else where for the problem.

EDIT: I'd agree with that, infact would not having a chip with just a pulley just feck you engine up?

UPDATED: bad news :( :( :( Finally changed the leads, no improvement. So i changed the plugs also, the old plugs were black as hell, all 6 of them. But there was a slight improvement in power, although after been told what ive been told ive taken it real easy. I noticed that it had used a lot of oil in the last month, but no signs of a leak. Anyway, after seeing the old plugs come out of the car i took them up to a garage i know. I was told it's burning oil and it could be the piston rings or oil could be getting in via the air intake. If it was the piston rings that had gone surely it wouldnt happen on ALL 6 pistons... what are the chances of that! Any ideas how the oil is getting into the cylinder and am i looking at a big bill!?

Where in West Yorks are you mate? Youre best getting a SNS chip.

I had 17" on my previous G60 with 205/40 17 tyres on them, no rub. But then again it was a bit 4x4 cos i didnt lower it  Which i you would get away with doing without rubbing.
