  1. I had a work mate say his old Rover 623 was better then my VR  Also, im sure im not the first C owner to have someone say to you its a bugger to get in and out of. Its not like its an art form, i find it ok to get into... then again im 5ft 6
  2. Its daves16v that does the kits isnt it? They work a treat trundlemouse, and very little work to get them fitted. They go on ebay for around £30 + postage. I think daves16v does them a bit cheaper. Welcome to the forum mate!
  3. I couldnt agree more bud :D
  4. I have that very same problem, constant tapping. I changed the oil and it didnt help, though i didnt flust the engine out. Ill give that a go and if it doesnt help ill get the tappets changed. Engine sounds awful though :(
  5. Welcome to the forum mate. I think youre doing the right thing with getting shot of the z32 and getting a VR.
  6. Well im think its safe to assume it will be made, the online model shops are advertising it. when you say itll make a good chrissy pressie, do you mean for yourselves, cos i think so
  7. Well going by the pic on http://www.grandprixlegends.com it doesnt look like the standard C. Has it been knocked back til January is it now? darn it.
  8. REALLY? Still there isnt much power, it could be me not used to a VR but for piece of mind im going to get it onto the rollers and see what that says. What about the possibility of it running rich? Cheers for the reply vr6storm,
  9. UPDATE Ok an update, changed leads to VAG leads, its better but still doesnt feel quite right. Had a compression test done, couldnt tell you the figures, but was told by the bloke who carried it out (trustworthy mechanic) that the compression was fine. But it still feels like its lacking in power somewhat. Ill put my foot down a bit and it'll feel flat and then SOME power will come in but i dont think as much power as i think it should have. If im in 3rd and i put my foot down in low revs, nothing really happens until i build the revs up gradually. I know the VR is known to lack low end torque but as little as this? Its also using fuel like theres no tomorrow (going by the MFA) i barely get over 21 mpg around town and in traffic, sometimes it drops to 17. On the motorway i dont see over 28 mpg. The mechanic said the spark plugs were covered in sooty deposits and was gungy due to the fuel wetting the soot. Does this sound like the car is running rich, if so what could be causing this? He also said the scraper rings may need changing due to oil being used, but not burnt, theres no smoke at all and theres no sign of a leak. The engine is really ticky. Could this be causing the lack in power? Any help much appreciated. Cheers guys
  10. Where can the standard VRs with the speedlines be bought?
  11. I managed to buy mine seperately. But if you want/need a new kit then so be it
  12. What happens if you dont get it sorted ASAP!?
  13. Aye, i wouldnt put it back on.... no way! Afraid you'll need a new charger matey.
  14. cmoth, i had same problem on my VR. the passenger side soaked. I lifted bonnet to find under the scuttle panel was alot of water, enough to float a toy boat, i kid you not. If youve unblocked the drain holes the carpet should stay dry.
  15. How the hell did that happen?
  16. Is it white white or a tint of blue to it?
  17. Well if its white, i doubt its burning oil
  18. seen as we're on the subject of how much oil each of your corrados use... ive had a similar experience. In the space of 4-5 weeks (not sure how many miles) my VR used a good 2 litres. I was advised that it could be the valves that need replacing, as the oil could be going back on itself (i was told). Now, its not burning the oil as theres no smoke. I changed the oil and it seems to have improved a lot. Could it be that ive put oil in that the engine likes more then the previous oil. 1 litre every 800 miles seems alot, or is it?
  19. Where you buy them Cazza16v?
  20. Would a FSE power boost valve be beneficial? http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/frame- ... ranges.asp
