What VW's have you owned and how old are you??
Critical_Mass replied to bigben's topic in General Car Chat
not had many cars like some of you of my age  but here goes... a shitty 1.1 H reg Rover metro (best thing someone did was break into it and f*ck it up) 1999 1.1 xn Pigeot Opps forgot to add 1995 Corrado 2ltr 8v in flash red. mint condition til i broke it. 1991 Corrado G60 1993 Corrado VR6 I have to say Ive matured more to the cars i buy ;) Still i was a late comer to the VeeDubs... never looked back VAG :notworthy:  :notworthy: -
Sorry to open this thread again, as it were. As explained in the first post i made- the problem has returned. I went to the shop and the car was fine. I came out and started the car... of dear... the car was misfiring. Got it home with it juddering and all. i took each lead out and they all seemed fine bar one. One had a white coating on the inside of it. So i checked a the spark plugs and AGAIN they are gunked up. The plug with the lead that had white a coating just seemed sooted up and not gunky. Any advise? i dont understand how it can be working fine after getting the leads and plugs changed. Then suddenly, after it was working, getting in the car and starting it can it suddenly be f*cked again.

They'd be fecked chasing the scroats round the council estates, first speed bump they get to and the lil s*ds would get away.
-
tbh id want them to tell me if my brake pipes were corroding no matter how slight. Its an area you cant afford to over look
-
The thing is you have to keep a key on you at all times when driving the car or leave it in the car in case of a puncture. But yeah, it makes it easier for theives.

 how else can it be described....try this. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1995-GOLF-PASSAT- ... dZViewItem

ah, avoids you having to shed a load of dollor out for no reason.
-
Hear hear... but then what would the point of the post be. Could be the modern day starsky and hutch!

Square metal thing with metal brake pipes leading into it.
-
SO if it was the pump, how much we talking for a replacement?
-
Yeah, youve got to have seen them on the ol' US films. I thought it was silly really, a brake light on one side and a flashing red light on the other as an indicator.
-
Yeah i agree with timmaaah. But like you say CorradoVR6-n.o.s- Then again, i dont think the MOT test covers somethings that can make a car unroadworthy. I also think some garages use it as an excuse to get extra work. TBH id never go to a larger garage for servicing, mots and general repairs etc, i find you get a more truthful and honest opinion, whether it be bad or good from a small local garage. After all it matters more to them if they get a bad rep then it would to a larger company.

If you werent so far away id come down and lend you mine. Mine is the same fitment locking nut. Had a look on ETKA, theres the set of bolts plus anti-theft key part no. 1H0 698 137 could quote the number to VAG. EDIT- Saying the part #21 which looks like the locking key says no longer available

erm so CAN the previous info be seen or not?

Bad luck maxveins, i feel for you mate. Some numpty pulled out on me 2 days before last xmas. Front wing, bumper, light, grille and slam panel all bent/smashed. Insurance took one look (literally) and said theres no way itll be fixed. So i took the car, got the parts off ebay for around 300 bar, vw wanted 1600!!! I tried fixing it up, but the car wasnt the same after that tbh. Best bet as already mentioned is to strip it and sell the parts. Good luck mate with whatever you decide to do!

Try VW.... possibly. btw you dup'd this post mate :)

Now i couldnt do that, my G60 was off the road for 8 months and i was depressed for those 8 months (not literally). I did my girlfriends head in cos i was always saying i cant wait til i can drive it again  I was driving my gfs 1litre lupo SE, which made going back to the G60 that little bit better due to the power difference :D But id miss the sound of the VR if i didnt drive it for....erm say a day or two  -

I too am poor and only have the one car, it being a corrado. I wouldnt want another car to use through the week and my rado for the weekend. I love to drive it so thats what i do. -
Yeah i made the mistake of taking all 3 bolts out on either side. Bumper came off, but when i realised the middle one should have staying in, i had a right job getting it back in.
