Hi all, Ive done a search and cant seem to find anything regarding the above subject - which i thought was odd. Maybe have a how to section of the forum for those of us who have not done a particular job before - mods? Anyway, the corrado will be coming off the road now i have a second car. So i can do jobs as and when i please. So one of the jobs i want to do is drop links and ARB bushes. The drop links look simple enough - unbolt the droplink and slide it off the ARB. But how do you change the ARB bushes? I see the ARB runs through ((above) a metal plate on either side which the rear subframe is also attached to. Do i need to drop these plates to change the bushes? Anyone got a guide? Cheers guys/gals.

wow, that is an "out there" Corrado. Looking forward to seeing some more pics of it finished.

Open the bonnet and check theres not a pool of water held in the scuttle. The drain holes can get blocked, can only assume the water has come through the throttle cable grommet or something. The windows can only be used one at a time, unlike more modern cars. When you say using the lock do you mean the key in the lock or the fob for the alarm?

Got an itch for an estate, i need to scratch. The Oct VRS is a good choice 8). Just got myself a second diesel car and was looking at estates, but wanted something cheaper tax wise. Passat estate was calling me  -
ah fair enough mate. I was just wondering what the tilt ramp would do to the under side of the car.

Think mine hisses too and the brakes are fine. Ive got a Gunson's Eezibleed and its a good piece of kit for about £20 from halfrauds.

It should be pulling air into the engine bay through the rad. Not blowing it through the rad from the engine bay.

Also considered one of those lifts. Never liked the idea of lifting the car from one point, least that woudl spread the weight. Not sure how it would be with a lowered car though. £325 isnt a bad price Kip check this site out - http://www.cjautosheywood.co.uk/ Im considering these actually - http://www.cjautosheywood.co.uk/hyramp.html

Ben - the yellow connector is for the sidelights. Its unplugged when a uprated loom is fitted. So just tape it up to stop water getting at it - though there should be a plug on the inside of the passenger wing next to headlight for it to plug into. Great news about the NCB - bet you cant wait to get it on the road :-) Oh and a eezibleed kit is very useful to bleed the brakes.

They will fit.

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...

Not quite what i did but, car clocked over to 170K. Not sure whether to be sad or happy its reached that far  -
What Jon said. It does sound like the abs rings. I fitted some new discs years ago and forgot to swap the old abs rings onto the new discs and that car did exactly what youre describing - albeit it was the rear discs and abs rings. The abs did the check when first starting the car - light flicked on and back off. But after about a mile the light would come on. Turn engine off then back on and it would do exactly the same thing. For me this also caused a sensor fault on VAGCOM. Maybe worth changing the rings and/or making sure they're sat correctly. I think the distance between the sensor and the ring is quite vital, so maybe corrosion or distortion is causing the issue.

I got an Autowatch 457RLi fitted in 2009. Was about £400 installed, so cheaper than the cliffords. But had full closure and hidden deactivation button. Never had a clifford but id say the autowatch is a damn good alarm.

thats the spirit :D

yeah good point Smee. Definately waterproof the relays as mind got water in them and i didnt realise until MOT time when it failed for lights not working (it was summer so didnt use lights much) - water had corroded the relays.

The gfs sister has just got one and i had a drive and i thought it drove pretty well to be honest. she only pays £30 a year tax! One reason for wanting to get one as a second car as theyre cheap. Shame the one im interested in is pre march 2001 so is £130 a year tax. Still cheaper than the volvo i was given.

Advert doesnt say anything about service history - i'll be asking when i go view it. Thanks for pointing out the brakes and the esp the clutch.

It wasnt the "are you single" add thats on now then  good find on the HT removal tool though. -
Cheers guys. Owen - it was more strain on the engine etc that i was worried about. The tow bar can always come off. but i didnt know they usually had a certificate. i'll bear that in mind when i go view it. Whats the cambelt service miles on them, every 70k?

hi all, Im looking to get a second car for the winter so the corrado can come off the road away from the salt and bad road condition - the winters have taken their toll as rust has appeared in places. So, ive seen a mk5 polo for sale 1.4 tdi. Its cheapish at a shade under 700, though probably can get it for a little less. Its done 170k, but im told that the diesel engines are solid - mileage doesnt worry me. My question is, it has a tow bar. No idea what its being towed- Would this put you off buying a car?

Prize came today Kip. Thank you!!
