  1. Ah noted. Thanks. Im also interested in the Classic insurance.. and would mods be allowed to qualify for a Classic car policy?
  2. Quantum Gold no longer exists, its now the petrol/diesel synthetic oil made by quantum. Silver is still available though. I wouldnt use anything other than the quantum fully synthetic personally. Just put 5w-40 in the vr (low mileage refurb engine) and it runs like a dream, so much quieter and smoother. £28~ plus vat i think.
  3. i hate you, i hate you so much!!!!
  4. Wullie really please that you found out the culprit and it occurred in unexpected circumstances. Thoguh i suspect the council will hide behind the data protection act. Though not sure how the fact you could have your insurance AND police involved will change the councils stance. Im guessing the police will have to approach the council, though as the blokes said, its a case of proving it to prompt the police to step in. good luck, hope it works out for you
  5. I think DriverVR6 meant to say its pointless those people who dont get the geometry setup correctly, having coilovers. I read all the time on ED38 with people casually changing the ride height on their cars like it can be done without setting the geometry up afterwards - that IS pointless. As is cheap budget coilovers that are to lower the car and nothing more... they are poop.
  6. 8) great news, your friend is indeed a legend! :D
  7. i'll take a look, it'll prob give me a better idea.
  8. Ah ok, cheers Dragon. Do i have to take the boot latch cover off to get to this switch?
  9. hi all, Ive done a search for this problme, i know people have had this issue themselves, but the search doesnt appear to bring much back regarding this issue. A few weeks ago i tried locking the car using the fob of my Autowatch 475rli alarm/immob. But the car was beeping like a door was still open. i checked all the doors bonnet and boot, ensured all the windows were shut. I did a full closure by holding the fob button and the car locked. However, tonight it was doing the same. Now, this could have been going on for the last couple of weeks and ive not known as the gf has been using the car instead of me. Anyway to cut a long story short it turns out the boot light is staying on with the boot closed which was causing this problem - i've removed the bulb to stop the battery draining. What causes the boot light to stay on? I've checked the popper in the boot by pushing it in and the light stays on. Im guessing its the popper thats the switch for the boot light, so is this the fault? Cheers
  10. Exactly what i was suggesting above. At the end of the day it would have been easier to leave them no signature then be able to deny the damage rather than you inspecting them.
  11. Just to throw it out there... could the driver leaving them on the drive with no signature and therefore no opportunity for the recipient to check condition, be an admission of guilt? Also, if the boxes AND polystyrene was damaged also, this suggests the wheels were damaged when they were in the box and more than likely the courier at fault. If the wheels were damaged before packing then would hte boxes be damaged also? What are the chances of the seller packing damaged wheels and thinking of damaging the packaging to make it look convincing.. and the courier company usually ensure items are well packaged before taking them away - whether this was the case is another argument though. What are the chances of the wheels been damaged by the seller AND also the packaging being damaged by the courier company on the same area as the damaged wheels. For me its pointing towards the courier company mishandling the items and going on the above shouldnt be TOO hard to get your cash back.
  12. Snap out of it fool! Seriously though... i've never driven a Mk2, but have always liked them and can see the appeal. But its ultimately going to be down to what you want from the car. As Tony said if its a weekend only car then would you get that special feeling when you, after a week of driving a boremobile, get back behind the wheel of said car and get a smile on your face. we KNOW the Corrado WILL do that, but will the mk2? You've said yourself the COrrado owes you nothing and its superb, along with the interior. So will you regret it if you do sell it for the MK2. You may not find out until you did it, but i hear so many times something along the lines of "i regret selling the Corrado". If you're unsure enough to ask others then id say "if in doubt, dont" If you do regret it, you'd have to start the adventure of getting another Corrado, one with its own faults etc
  13. Are we ruling out a small ghost then?

  19. Yes vag come reads the ECU for the temp.
  20. Dont think the lighter or certainly the heater dial bulbs are as straight forward as just replacing the LEDs.
