Do you mean you cant find the fuses or the actual fuse? anyway.... The fuses are behind the small shelf where the drivers right knee would be. It maybe held in by 2 plastic clips - if it is becareful taking them out theyre hard to get hold of. THe stereo fuse is the far left of the little row of fuses its a red 10A fuse. Think it says what each fuse is for on the back of the shelf you would have removed to get to them. Some stereos have a fuse on the back of the stereo itself also.

Broadband BT or Sky ?? + TV not so important
Critical_Mass replied to emu's topic in General Car Chat
Ring both up and ask what speed you'll get from each. I got sky tv and was going to get sky BB with them but they said they could only offer me 500kps, talk talk and virginmedia (i went with VM in the end) both said 1.8mpbs. God knows why it differs so much as its the same phone line and still the same distance from the exhange. P.S from people who have had BT vision says its pap. Though like everything opinions differ. -
could be a number of people to be honest as you say theres a few kevs. Could it be "FishWick" - Kev Haywire. What car you running it on?
-
No they both go inwards. You'll see a white plastic tulip shaped piece that part of the bonnet cable (slides onto it like a bead on a piece of cotton) that pushes the lever towards the rad. If it turns out this has broken as mine did (must have disintegrated due to the heat of the engine), i got some metal ones made up. Let me know and i can send you it (for a small price)
-
Put the car on ramps, find something long relatively thin (like a rod of metal), something that wont bend too easily and reach up and lever the other pin release towards the centre of the bonnet, not towards the wing.

Dont use mole grips get some mini plastic clamps. BUt should work. -
Well done mate, you did well to do it without taking the wheel off. Especially when the daft allen key nut can be a pain to get off. Always feels rewarding to get something done on the car... shame the list is usually long

All sold other than wheels - please lock

Led backlit Heater Control panels for late Corrados

Any update to this? -
ah OEM then. Good price if they're genuine.

Yeah i hear you. I was working on the brakes on the car over the weekend, which is parked on the street and it was raining at times - wasnt fun. Especially when you have to stop to allow the heavy rain to pass - wasting time. Ive considered buying a marquee type cover before. Obviously useless where i live now as my drive is slanted and have to do any work on the street.

What bearings where they matt? They werent Vortech were they. I got a Vortech for £18 off my mechanic and am told its a budget one.
-
Thats what mine is like. Infact he's like that to alot of his customers, hes always on the phone helping someone out, usually me  its a wonder if he gets anything done. Mechanics like this are worth their weight in gold to be honest. You need someone you can trust and you know who'll do a good job. ALex is there anyone on here in your area that can recommend you a decent garage. Maybe worth creating a sticky in the suppliers forum for known good mechanics in specified areas?
-
I feel lucky ive got a trust private VW Specialist to go to, wouldnt trust anyone else with it. Only charges £25+VAT per hour and get parts at trade price. He doesnt do the MOT when i take it down his mate down the road does. But again he does a good job too. I agree, alot of places dont like putting themselves out with repairing stuff or even taking certain jobs on even though youd be willing to pay for the job Kwik-fit- urrgh took my little pug there once when i had it, but never ever again after the mess they made of the job. Same applies to nationwide centres at halfords branches. They broke not one but TWO locking keys when attempting to get the wheels off the rado. They used the air gun and denied it when i confronted them about it, even though i saw them do it!!! muppets. Never again, id always go to a private garage, but that by no means guarantees a good job, though at least their lively hood depends alot on reputation and therefore good jobs. Larger garages like dealers, kwik fit and the like dont from my experience seem to care - though im not saying they're all like that.

I got a pair of SNR bearings (£22 each), pair of rear pagid discs and pair of pagid pads, original price of £102 at EuroCarParts. Mates employee discount got me them for £55. Which brings me onto saying - there's a thread if you search where a CF member has set up an account for CF to get discount (i assume), i dont know how much discount.
-
Change it anyway, sometime fuses can look ok when they're not. Saying that, do the wipers share the same fuse as the sunroof?
-
Yeah v easy to.do. though can be tough to get the carrier bolts off. so i would replace these also cos u could end up mangling them getting them off. Sorry you responded just before i did :-/ took me ages to do it on my phone
-
This wasnt the response i was hoping for  nay bother, got some sorted (thanks PurpleTom)
