The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
Critical_Mass replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
GOod one Yan, what flavour? Service was due, gave the ol' gal some fresh new Synta Platinum oil and filter. Gave the car a damn good clean in and out too along with a wax :D Came out lovely, but my paint needs tidying up, chips here and there a couple of scuffs :( -
 Giving the car a clean inside and out today. Was just applying the new Poorboys wax ive just got (hmmm nice smell of strawberries) whilst having a chat to the guy who lives over the road. Car drives down street and stops and shouts nice car, is it a VR? He was loving it. The guy over the road said "he's always washing it" :lol (its true), but got a response of "its good he's looking after it" :D

Illegal but unlikely to be pulled for doing those speeds. Assuming the conditions allow. ;)

X2 ^^^ But if you know the tracking and geometry is spot on. Then take the wheel off and put it back on straight, as long as the wheels are pointing straight on.
-
I would say so, either that or the alternator belt. The alternator belt can be adjusted, not sure about the fan belt. Though they will start to squeel again as the noise is due to wear. Prob best to replace.

Cheers Jim but i just created a new account with my new email address. I've joined the league. :D

Would these cause the fans to run irratically too? On mine when i turn the ignition off after a run, sometimes it doesnt come on at all, other times it comes on for a matter of minutes then switches itself off and other times it will come on for about a second then switch off then back on for a second and back off... sees random. Or would this be more the control box thats faulty?
-
Yeah it will be obvious, its the only vaccum pipe going to the ECU. Bear in mind though AFAIK if the length is incorrect for the ECU it will cause more issues other then just low MPG on the MFA. Maybe still worth checking, but if the car is running fine but the instrument is lookign wrong id check the vac pipe behind the cluster first.

blue VR spotted parked up today at Calcutt near Harrogate. I was turning round in the pub car park opposite to hear up towards the aquatic centre on forest moor road. :D
-
Yeah i was afraid of bending it too much. Thanks for the tips i'll get it fitted also! Rob - did you say you were send ing a payment over. Need your address also mate :D
-
Ditto, mines like a tortured mouse behind the dash. Seems worse on colder days. My fan doesnt work on one anymore, dont know if its related. Any particular grease to you when lubing the bearing?
-
Im pleased to hear that! So does it pull the lever that releases the pin, ok? You say the black sleeve stays in place? How did you get the wire out of the sleeve. I dont want to bend it. Which way do you pull the wire, towards the passenger side or drivers? Do you not have to release the cable at the handle end or anything?
-
Yeah sure Rob. My Paypal is, [email protected] :D
-
Andrew - yours was posted today :D apologies for the delay.
-
My pleasure. Sounds like it was nicely timed too! Have you had chance to fit it yet mate? Keep putting fitting mine off because i can imagine it being a bit of a pain to fit. Anyone know the easiest way to go about it? By the way, i have 2 left to those that want one. Havent had payment from a couple of people so have 2 up for grabs.

Tropical fish - think I could get into this
Critical_Mass replied to davidwort's topic in Off-topic Chat
Yeah i agree with David - i was referring more the Marine side of the hobby. Tropical is rewarding and doesnt cost much to set up nor to stock it. I got a Fluval Venezia 190L corner tank off ebay for £100. A tank thats worth £400+ new. Bargain!!! There are plenty of others out there. -

Kept tropical for a while, decided to move on to marine. Tropical were nice, but marine are another level. Just spent a fortune buying the necessary stuff to get it set up, ranging from pumps, skimmer (thanks Andrew 30), sump, piping etc Its cost so much and i havent even got any fish yet haha. :( Krissy - that looks very nice mate :D -
Andrew, not had chance to post your guide sleeve yet, i will post it tomorrow for sure!

One for the detailers - Best rotary polisher?
Critical_Mass replied to Kevin Bacon's topic in Exterior
I got one off Amazon that was a rotary polisher with variable speed. I THINK it was a silverline one, id have to take a look. It came with various pads and wool pads. Cost about £80. Doesnt seem to be on there anymore. Though to be honest when i got it, it was quite big, no where near as small as the Meguires DA and was quite hard to handle to be honest. It soon when back in its box and i havent used it since. Will be looking to getting a meguirs DA. Found this on Amazon, again not cheap though - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Basic-Machine-Polishing-Featuring-Meguiar/dp/B0041O0LSC/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1298468125&sr=8-4 -
Hi Andrew, ive received your payment, i'll get yours posted asap :D
-
Good stuff guys! Was scared they wouldnt arrive via normal post. When one of you get it fitted let me know how you get on. :D i'll donate the rest of that cash to the forum. :D Oh by the way guys you may want to spray them before fitting, apparently they will get surface rust over time. I meant to spray them with some black BBQ paint i have in the garage, but i forgot.

Neuon - send us payment mate and your address. My paypal email is on a previous page. :D
