  1. What happens when the emergency services need to get through in rush hour traffic too? Currently the hard shoulder is available for them or for others to pull out of their way into.
  2. Whatever you do dont change the bumpers :( Oak green came in with the campaign, so small bumper oak green cars are rare! I always wanted a small bumper oak green 16v, best of luck with it 8)
  3. Do you really need the bends in the bypass section? I used a straight section of copper pipe in a Mk2 Golf before with no problems, although I had to do a bit of adjusting to prevent the rubber pipes from kinking, but it worked fine for me.
  4. Marginally More like the Stilo in my opinion, or a combination of the two. Persoanlly while I think its ok as a hot hatch, in my books its no coupe, its just another varient of the mkv gti / audi s3 / leon et all, if we are honest though VAG have the TT, it would be unlikely that they would launch another coupe to compete against themselves for market share.
  5. Are they not mk3 anniversary wheels? (the 16 inch ones) therefore 5 stud?
  6. I assume you have seen some previous work by the guy painting it? I would go through with him about the windows etc, personally I hate mask lines around windows so if it was me I would want them to be coming out. As for lowering the cost, you would need to speak to the painter to see what he wants done, although any stripping down of trim (door handles, mirrors, window rubbers, roof trims, badges, lights, grille and so on that would save him time should save you money.
  7. They'd be the same size as the original wheels though.
  8. The door could be sagging on the hinges slightly, is it easy to close or does it catch? Try lifting the end of the door with the door open to see if there is a lot of play in the hinges, does the door sit square in the frame? check the panel gaps.
  9. Nothing chav about that at all, (being chav is a british thing anyway is it not?) couldnt care less if someone dinged my Corrado by the way, its just a car, more important things in life you know.
  10. Its one of those things you will never understand or appreciate untill you have children, A year ago I would have said they were a pointless waste of parking spaces, yet I never once parked in one. My normal parking tricks to avoid dents are, Park at the end of a line next to a kerb, park as close to the kerb as you can without kerbing your wheels, thus you are as far as possable from the next parking space. Or find a parking space where the cars are nose to tail (I find that nearly every car park (well in this country anyway) has at least a handfull of these, normally empty as most people are crap at paralel parking.
  11. I'll agree with you there :( I've had to leave my wife with the baby outside the car and come out of the space plenty of times, just to have room to get the car seat in
  12. Well I wouldnt normally say this, but I sincerely hope it comes back to bite you in the ar5e and your car does get damaged parking in one. Oh, and remember this if you ever have children and curse as you try to get a child seat in or out of a car because some ignorant cunt who values his paintwork over the safety of your child (I know of several accidents involving children and prams in car parks, which is another reason parent and child parking is close to the door) had parked in the parent and child spaces leaving you stuck to use a standard sized space.
  13. Parent and child spaces are needed because it is not possable to get a child seat into a car without opening the door fully, you quite obviously can not open the door fully in a standard parking space, hence parents with children REQUIRE a wider space, its not for no reason, I agree that parking spaces in general should be bigger, but thats not a reason to inconvenience others. I take it you dont have children?
  14. thats well out of order tho fair enough i park in the parent n child ones when i shouldn't but I NEVER park in a disabled space Its not nice to park in the parent and child spaces when you dont have child with you either  Ever try to take a baby out of a car in a standard parking space? not an easy task, and because of someone like you parking in a parent and child space you could end up making someone like me attempt to open my corrado's door, get a baby out of the back and so on all in a standard parking space, well thanks. On another note, I got given out to for parking my Corrado in a parent and child space once, it was quite funny when I pointed out the (occupied) child seat in the back
  15. Not the quickest anyway, 0 - 60 is 9.1 seconds according to vag :( Still, its alright for my daily driver
  16. See attached. If you need any more help let me know.
  17. Its easy enough, bar removing the bottom pully to get the lower plastic cover off to get the timing belt off, you have 2 options for this, remove the crankshaft pully bolt or take the front RHS engine mounting bolt out and lever the engine over to give clearance for the pully to come off after removing the 4 allen bolts that secure it to the crankshaft timing pully. Besides that access is fine and its a straight forward job, you might want to replace the water pump while you are at it, its used to tension the belt and its a timing belt off job to replace it so better do it now than in 6 months. Quick step by step guide from memory: 1. Remove airbox for access. 2. Slacken off 13mm and 19mm charger bolts. 3. Rotate charger on its mountings, remove belts 4. Remove timing belt upper cover (about 4 clips) 5. align timing marks 6. Remove the 4 allen bolts securing the lower charger / alternator pully 7. Either remove the crankshaft pully bolt or engine mounting bolt and to allow removal of lower charger pully. 8. Loosen water pump securing bolts (3 bolts 10mm) 9. Rotate water pump to slaken the timing belt 10. Remove timing belt lower outer cover 11. Remove timing belt 12. Change water pump if applicable 13. Place new timing belt over the top pully, bottom pully and water pump 14. Check timing marks are aligned 15. Replace bottom timing cover and outer pully making sure to keep the timing aligned. 16. Tension belt by rotating waterpump untill you can turn the timing belt 90deg in the run from the waterpump to the top pully. 17. Rotate engine 2 revolutions by hand 18. Check timing marks and tension again 18. If all is ok and marks are aligned begin re-assembly.
  18. I've been told that the mounts are identical, so either will fit either car without problems.
  19. The early bumpers have a small line near the top that turns up towards the ends, it goes straight on and fades out on the late ones. I would imagine they mount the same, but am not sure.
  20. There should be an earth point in the rear near the lighting cluster, a poor earth there is your best bet for the problems with braking and indicating.
  21. Matting base will sort the shine aspect. Texture additive will give texture. Plastic primer will prevent paint peeling. Simple. its all tried and tested, I work in a coachbuilders, we have painted plastic trim items countless times and have never had a problem getting them to match existing items. On the vibration aspect, Wurth do an anti squeek felt its self adhesive and is used to prevent plastic items from rubbing together and squeeking / causing rattles, could be worth looking into. As for black screws, they are readily available, well I can get them anyway, used them on my last Corrado to replace any missing screws, you could actually just screw the plastic parts together using black self tappers and speed clips, then you would avoid drilling holes in the body of the car. As for the question of if any don't, my new one appears to have survived 100% intact
  22. You wouldnt happent to be selling your old one? I need a new exhaust.
  23. Ok, looking for opinions on some tail light options, or any other suggestions, here are a few photoshops along with the original:
  24. Thanks Richard, PS thanks for all the help and encoragement with this one, this is one time I am glad I listened to your bad influence on me
  25. Cheers, its a pain paying the government money for nothing, but worth it in the end to get back behind the wheel of a Corrado 8)
