Quick rough photoshop onto a blue Corrado
-
My old valver as it is now

Its etch primer you want, not zinc primer, zinc primer is for rust proofing purposes, etch primer is designed to adhere to metal substrates that would ordinarily not take paint well. Also with regards to laquer and straight non metallic colours, its not strictly true to say that a non metallic colour does not need laquer as they can either be direct gloss (no laquer) or base coat, which would need laquer. I am not sure what volkswagen used on the late Corrado's, but I know mk3 golfs were clear over base, would stand to reason that the later Corrado's may also be clear over base too.

Ah, but imagine what response a low mileage Corrado that had been treated like that from day one would get on here now.

I dont see what the problem is, thats some seriously impressive cleaning regardless of what the car is underneath it all. If it was a brand new VAG car would it recieve the same negative comments? Fair play to him, leave him at it if thats what he wants to do, sure it may "only be an astra" to some of the people on here but dont loose sight of the fact that to a lot of other people in the world a corrado is only a corrado too.

Why couldnt he just have said "Can I help you?" instead of "Can I help you sir?" True, but then the garage would probably get complaints about the staff not being polite enough.

I hate to play devils advocate, but............ To be fair, faced with two people they have to pick one. Chances are if a couple were in a lingere shop the girl would get served first, is that not the same thing the other way round?

Try to get your hands on some Bostik 1GA186. Its a heat resistant contact adhesive, we use it to stick the alcantara headlining to its backing in our Limo's, tried and tested and it works.

How many of us have near original spec Corrados?
gsbellew replied to Bojmobile's topic in General Car Chat
One of mine is standard with the exception of a CD headunit, side strips removed, stainless exhaust (simple oval) and clear side repeaters. The other is standard bar wheels and being lowered. -
