Hi all. got these. Bonrath uprated mounts. Are they G60 or VR?? ie if VR what do I need to fit em on my 60? If I need caps can I get em from the breakers of a passat ect? They look like my old ones (well shot) Just they sit taller! Cheers

Exactly bows in the middle. That is my drivers side?? Pass side is perfect... I walk into the dealers I mention Corrado they all start laughing, Oh look mate there goes a rocking horse??? Ok bunch though nice ladieeees in the showroom. I also want a bonett release lever. Can't get 1 from VW the factory stopped making em in May last year.. Must be a warehouse full of em somewhere? Anybody got a spare. Grey interior. I have none no fixings or mount infact not even sure where it would go. The previous owner made a lever and fitted it under the front fogs. Nice when the already cut cable snapped!!

HAHA had me laughing. i've done it to. I was replacing the shoes on my mums Corsa...Rear drums..hate em. Freezing cold day all the little pins n spring cups. Ping of it flew again. I then hit the wheel arch with a pair of pliers  Said to mother. Looks like you have a supermarket trolley dink in your arch!!!!! HEHE Phil I;ll let ya know how it goes As for bending the door will try tomorrow. I'll need a new seal now the new one is bent n a bit wavey..! Thats what happens when you remove em. Never get em perfect again. So I'll try with that then spend another 30 at the stealers..Bought a VR6 clutch today cost me £140....! It better be worth it.

Thank God for a reply. I actually just so lost my rag. Only afetr I had give up. Did'nt want to hit the car with a hammer or something  Felt like i was going mad. I'll take yer idea and explain it to the car :D

Hi all. In rebuilding the C I needed a new window seal. The Horizontal 1 that sits across the door as you lower the glass. My old 1 was not butting up tight to the glass. So £30 later and a trip to the stealers??? Fitted the new seal popped in perfect no kinks. Still the seal and glass do not meet?? Its as if the door is bowed outwards!!! The Pass side is a perfect fit. Real tight to the glass. When the window is down you can wobble ? the glass sought of like there is no guide (lock end) The pass glass seems to sit very tight with no room to wobble... Any ideas. I can't seem to spot if anything is missing? Any advice appreciated.

Don't know. S roof does not work... It tilts a bit but does not slide. So I just closed it again and disconnected the switch. Save that for another day I think... Any ideas on what would be good to make a new membrane from? Or just some decorators dust sheets?
-
I've just ordered a new seal and the horizontal seal that sits on the outside as you lower the window. I had thought about dynamat on the doors. May as well the car is looking like an airfix kit at the moment!!

That is for sale at 'Not Escorts'. Based St Neots, Cambridgeshire. I know Steve who runs the place.I lived in the Town untill recentley. There Ok. He gets em in and breaks em. A month or so back ge had 8 G60 engines on pallets ready to be shiped to Australia!!

Hi. No when window is closed. Its a roar like an F4 phantom sitting by my ear. Real bad roar louder as I get faster

Hi all. Being as the C is on stands with everything out for a rebuild I thought i'd tackle the terrible windnoise I get from my side when tanking along. I did a search on this but little came up. I did catch 1 post that mentioned the door membrane. I removed both panels. Pass side had the membrane my side did not? Could this really be the prob? I could swear the noise comes from near my head!!! If this is the prob any recomendations for what to use as a new membrane??

Hi. Fit a new thermostat def. Really worth doing when you are putting in a new pump anyhow. Once the stat is in try disconecting the matrix pipes and run the engine see if it pushes air out of the block. many cars have a bleed screw on the water pipe circuit. I have had my share of hot water and blown gaskets. It seems the Carrado does not have a bleeed screw. My Peugeot had one locater on the matrix pipes. Hope it helps

Hi. Yes you are correct. I checked the previous Jabba receipt n certificate. It does state under notes. 1990 6 port diffuser?? Is that good or bad? What is involved in porting the charger. Is it just the outlet that is ported and the inlet chamber if wanted. I saw that on B&B. Does anything get worked on internally?
-
Well I split the charger case... Wow what an amazing bit of kit that is. Once you realise how it works. Sought of gulping air. Genius really. Must really move at high RPM's!!! Anyway all is in good condition. everything looks as it should be. None looks like those burnt out internals on matey matey  The front half of the charger is full of oil so I guess the seals are gone? Seal strips beige in colour were about 0.5 cm short on most of the scroll. They are really hard. I imagines that they would be soft. I read that they have springs?? Could no see any. Now to get it overhauled. So here are some shots.
-
It does seem that as a company they have fell from greatness. All I seem to read is bad stories?? My charger has had work done on it by Jabba. When I called them for a price it was like talking to a wall. As it is already at S4 and I don't want any porting work done how much for a rebuild?? S4 price mate?? I said that price includes porting work? Yes he said. I said I don't want that work just seals n bearings ect....Stage 4 price mate??? Is that wright??

Def change the cap..Also the gauge. Could be the sender or the actual gauge. I took my clocks out and the gauge needle had popped off the expansion rod inside. Makes me wonder about the car. In the service history there were twp previous head jobs. Just gaskets. Maybe the car had overheated so bad it popped the needle!! I blew the head gasket again. The coolent was being dumped into the down pipe!! Washed out no 4 pot. All other pistons were as they should be but 4 was shiny clean. Warped the head also. Had it skimmed and new cap fine since.
-
The charger has the wider gates belt fitted. So that's good. The charger appears to have been looked after. Looks to be in good nic inside. All rotates freeley. Will prob split the case later on. See if all is as it should be inside.
-
Well the charger is out. After a battle with the pulley wheel!!! My pulley is WEIRD. It does not look like any of yours? Well from what i have seen anyway. Its full of weld bead!!!!! Anyway it was the pulley rear guard that was being difficult. Evrntually it popped with some gentle umphhh. How big is a standard pulley ie. factory. My pulley measures 86mm across?? What is weird this pulley has been welded over a small pulley?? You can actually see the belt grooves underneath the oversize wheel? See the pics for an idea. When removing the charger my silencer box had a pool of oil?? Sign of a needed re-build? It was pulling about 6-8psi With knackered boost pipes and this big pulley. I have not split the charger case yet. Will wait for a litle feedback from you folks. Cheers

Well so the folks on this place say... :D I did a search and the words were 65 mph in 2nd gear so you don't waste time shifting to 3rd to get to 65 = faster faster more power. Nah I just love the car but I wont turn up the chance for brand new internals inside the box o cogs... I was wondering what other stuff will go in the gearcase. My mate will know when he looksa at the two setups in detail. Recomendations are good though. Anybody know what the upper gears will do.
-
Hi all. I dropped my gearbox over to a good friend of mine yesterday. Shear fluke he has a VR6 box just built up with new internals!! The owner despite many calls has never returned to the workshop with the rest of his payment. Its sat in the shop since Nov last year. My mate said what ever I want for my transmisson I can have. I swapped him a set of Koni's and Eibach springs for his Saab... What shall I have fitted. I read a post on the search about VR 1st and 2nd so they are already claimed. What does 4th n 5th do for the car? Answers appreciated.
-
Yep. I dropped the black tubular support arm. The charger seems to move within the limits of its cradle but it does not seem to want to pop free? It moves about so nothing is holding it in place. It does not seem to want to slip past the alloy bush's that are present on the rear bracket , where the two allen bolts were...?
-
Waheeeey speak of the devil. You will no doubt be my next port of call for a service... The only thing I have not removed is the pulley. Which I may add is weird looking (will take a picture in the morning and post it). Charger was last serviced at Jabba to a stage 4 in 2003 I think. Got the receipt n certificate with tons of other service history when I got the car. I removed the 4 Allens from the front plus 2 at the rear. All lines off plus the lower support bracket. I was going to open the case to see what is inside ie if its in 1 piece or rather the piece's it should be in!!! Gearbox is also out and going for a re-build tomorrow. The neighbours think a nutter has moved in
-
well I followed the idea'a at matey matey and removed all the Allen bolts, oil lines and stuff. How do you pull the charger clear of the rear bracket???
-
Good o. Thats what I wanted to hear. There is no vac line to operate it so it just looks a waste of time. God knows what it is supposed to be or do. I'll pull it n fit the new blues. Cheers
-
Yeah thats whats weird it does look like a closed loop valve!!!! But why is it there. It had an adjustable screw at the top??? Why would you fit a DV to a supercharger?? oh weel wait n see what others come up with.
-
Intresting... I have just replaced my matrix. I also noticed that the heat is not as hot...I read on the forum that upon replacing the matrix and then connecting it all back up that the metal valve can stick part closed??? Why would that be. Just cos its dried out inside?? Shall see if I can get a new one.
