    HELP!!

Try the throttle cable as said earlier. I have just rebuilt my C and it has a strange tickover. Revs high on start up settles to 1000rpm then tap the throttle arm with ya finger it settles back. Gonna fit a new cable today. I also needed a new throttle plate. Not for same reasons but they are damn ecpensive new. Got it from ebay.
  2. it was a zetec powered ginetta actually from the ginetta cup  i went with some friends of mine, and apart from the weather it was a great day, a few people got stuck in the mud including a landrover discovery up to its axles  it was a shame the corrado had to retire from the race as it was holding its own quite well up to that point, saw a couple of rado's parked up and some very tasty cars in the car parks especially this one well there ya go. An MX5 was about the closest thing I could link it with  Yeah it was a great day. Got there early left at about 2. The kids little legs were worn out  Was there MUD? Yeah the weather was weird. Woke up sunny. 5 miles later at Oulton park it was grey n drizzle. Ya can't win. Oh you saw the Merc Mc yeak it was holy **** look at that. Had to grab my son as he ran towards it waving his sword just won on hook a duck :D Dr Mat Yeah there ia alot of drilling on those disk hats !!!! They were a good bunch though.
  3. Have you tried emailing koni Uk? They are an OK bunch. Every time I asked questions always got good answers and good details from em.. Worth a go
  4. Oh yeah he just streaked away. prob a good driver but with his name better sponsors more money more testing followed by development. Still damn fast car n driver
  5. Here are a few more shots of the day. The F3 race was good. The car hit the barrier right in front of us. My daughter was on my shoulders at the time. Really scared her. The car was really moving, got a nudge from behind and bang in the barrier then back out on the trac. The smashed engine is a Zetec powered MX5. Prob the best thing for a Zetec engine actually
  6. He was a great guy. laughed with my kids to. We had a laugh over gearbox stories actually. We both admitted that we have fitted transmissions, rubbed our hands and made a coffee. Sat down and wondered why the release bearing is sat by the toolbox  hehehehe The transmission in the C is dutch internals its also a dog box ie dog teeth to enable smoother faster shifting. Due to this the C has to carry a 30Kg weight penalty. As for the Golf ahh well there was a bad start at race 1. A Golf sheared its driveshafts off the grid. The driver had to literally sit there whilst the field split around him. He was just waiting to be hit really. He was! by the Golf then somebody hit the golf so hard from behind they just stoved it in. So it was totalled for the day at least. They have 3 weeks to see what they can do with it...
  7. Well that must have been a lot of F******* bits  There's nowt left inside nor out...
  8. Yeah I just posted 10 shots of the C that was racing !!!
  9. As the title sez.... Enjoy. Saw an unreal crash well saw a few. Just in the F3 race a car ploughed into the barrier 6ft in front of me. Had my daughter on my shoulders at the time. Scared her to death. Driver just got out n walked away. Damn good day and the kids loved it. The Corrado crew were great. Loads of shots questions and even messing about with my two kids. Whilst taking the gearbox out. They had the flywheel break away from the crank so they welded it to the crank  Game on..... Car came 3rd int he 1st race.
  10. I think a lot of us on here know that feeling - I could have bought a Storm for the money mines cost me  It is all worth it in the end though... mines been running right for 2 weeks now after 2.5 years of one problem leading to another! Still, nothing gives the same grin factor as a C at full pelt! yep my 60 has cost me over a grand in the last 4 months. Previous owner claimed to be a mechanic??? Man I would not let him near my nippers pedal trike. My engine is supossed to be at 1.9 seems to run well. That is when it has  Head rebuilt and skimmed due to warpige. Charger rebuilt new throttle plate new front bearings, gearbox rebuilt. I think these cars really need to be owned by caring owners. Like folks on here. God help what is left on the Rd when the BOYZ get hold of em. These cars are rare but some are low in price and in the bracket of the Ripspeed crew  I say sell yr cam and sell what ya can get a standard engine and then it yr project. I have done alot on a half wits project..God I hope she runs well
  11. Now that is a PHAT car... Well nice paint job
  12. Thankyou Henny I shall be mostly out today getting a new cable.
  13. Well my car runs. Started her up yesterday. Such a relief that all my belt n stuff was fine. She seems to be suffering from a sticky pedal or throttle lever. Revs on startup then drops back to 1000 rpm. just touch the pedal and she settles at 750 - 850 rpm. I had to replace the throttle plate due to naff plumbing and broken off Vac nipples. Answers anybody???
  14. After getting my head soughted out. I had a terrible time with this problem. Part of it was not enough care taken with hose clips ect. My car was in the shop for over a week taking up space. I guess they needed it out quick. Most of the clips were not done up enough. Upon investigation this is a known prob with the Corrado. The hoses sought of age and after the have been disturbed during work its near impossible to get em to seal again. Anyway my smell of petrol culprit was the main hose that connects to the regulator. This was leaking and as you said pooling. Within half an hr the smell would be gone. Evaporated away I guess. I bought new good quality hose clips seemed to sought it out. I would like all new fuel lines but folks on here have said that the main line in is a nightmare to get a seal on. Difficult to reach ect.
  15. I just fitted a Weitec kit of matched springs n shockers. Got em from the man at G. Well nice setup. Recomended by Darren he fitted a set to his wife's car. Said the ride quality for everyday use was amazing. As a job its not hard. Rears take an hr. Fronts a little longer. You will need spring compressors. Makes the job easier. Fit the rears into the turrets first then jack up the rear beam and loose bolt everything up. Only tighten suspension bolts and such when the weight of the car is on all wheels. Will stop bush n mount creak. I took pleanty of shots of the rear buildup not sure about the front. Will write a 'how to' get it posted
  16. Yep I have a Stage 4 charger just rebuilt by the man at G. Plus 68mm pulley and an SNS 5.5 chip. Rsr kit and other bits. Just waiting to run her now. Fitting the rear weitec kit at the mo. Well not at the mo kids off for the week. No time for me to play :(
  17. As I said on the 1st line..Yes it was a pain to find Did my head in actually till it dawns on ya something else must be attached to something else...? :D
  18. Follow this and the heaterbox n matrix will pop out. Whilst your there check the operation and condition of the box flaps. The control cogs break. This was the reason why my job happened. So grease your cogs with electrical silcone grease should keep em alive for longer. Hope it helps.
  19. Nearest dealer is only open till 1. Well parts anyhow. So its Monday morning. Will def get a whole new setup. Worth it anyway the Weitec Kit is on at the front end with all new bits so woth treating the rear's to the same. Cheers Folks
  20. Well that has brought a quick hours work to a halt :( Always on a saturday these things are found. No where to get new from till Monday.... Can these be sourced from a local place or is it VW only?? Totally shot spring mounts.. My turrets are in good order though. At least they're not rotten...

    Fan switch

Hi all. I need a new rad mounted fan switch. Nipped down the local shop with my old one in hand. All there catalogues (3) stated the black one is for the G60?? Is this correct. My old is grey with 1 cut out the other black with three cut outs? It still slips into the electrical socket. just unsure if this is correct or if my original is wrong. My loom has the plug that fits the grey switch single cutout. I noticed the Neuspeed switch is also grey in colour...? Cheers all.
  22. Where's that Aldi??? Yep bargain central. Don't go in there with my Mother!!!! Last month she came home with a new set of taps and a digital safe???? The centre isle's are the death nell of your wallet...
  23. No worries folks. Fitted new earlier mounts with the bearing built in. Had these new anyway. Car is now Ready to have the rears soughted out. Job for next week sometime.
  24. sciroccotune said: Not acording to VW and folks on here. As siad in previous post The spring seems to hold it in place. Anyway does not matter now. Got bored waiting for an answer. Fitted new early style mounts that I had from VW a while back. I have fitted many kits I was just a little sought of is that it...Is that what holds the strut together  So anyway car is sitting with its front wheels on the ground :D First time in 3 months. So pos a startup tomorrow.
  25. No replys. Come on folks I know some of ya have the VR mounts on yer cars... Found this on Ekta. I seem to have all the required components?? So Does the VR spring cap not sit on the strut rod shoulder?? I have the strut cap of a Passat so really just wondering about the VR cap and how it fits.
